What's going on December 3rd?

There are no studio rooms at any inn.... I've been checking and there's been availability at Saratoga up until now -- 7 month window. I guess that's what I get for dragging my feet, but who would think there would be no studios anywhere for that one day. What is happening that I don't know about?

Guess it's waitlist for now and maybe a cash reservation for one night, which will make us move twice. Already have the Poly for December 4 - 9, just wanting to add on a few days at the front end. Now I have Saratoga November 30th to December 3rd, homeless for one night then on to the Poly.

Good luck -- since it's only one day you'll have a good chance of getting something.

You're actually lucky getting poly from 4-9....

That's a long time for a waitlist to fill. Since there was availability and you just created the waitlist the likelyhood of it filling is good IMO. Have a back up just in case that you can cancel but I wouldn't worry about it too much.

That's the start of the busiest DVC week and has been a tough time for booking for many, many years.

What makes it the busiest week for DVC bookings? Doesn't seem like a special week to me --- a week or two after Thanksgiving and a couple of weeks before Christmas breaks, we were thinking we were choosing a slow time, guess there's no such thing anymore. Hopeful for waitlist, but I will be making a backup

The first 2 weeks of December are VERY popular with DVC Members for several reasons:

• Lowest point season
• Parks are not overly crowded
• All Christmas Holiday Events are going on and everything is decorated

This year, DVC is holding Moonlight Magic Events at Epcot on 12/4 & 12/11.

I had no idea these weeks were that popular. I am booking at my 11 month home resort window for these weeks next year, but I would been caught off guard at 7 months as well. I guess the new strategy is to book home at 11 months and then see what availability is at 7 months for other resorts.

That's a good strategy for any time of the year. DVC is set up to run near full capacity and we have seen reports of availability at less than 7 months being in short supply for many resorts. Good luck with your waitlist.

Also, there is a MVMCP that evening.

Generally, studios book more quickly than the larger villas.

Because of the popularity of the time between Thanksgiving and Marathon weekend, several members are "walking their reservations. You may find that night open if you keep a close eye on the RAT the next several days. If it's important to you, check several times per day. Good luck!
