My husband (age 35, if that matters) and I are going next week with our daughter. I'm trying to plan some things that will be especially fun for him too, as this is our big vacation after a recent workfest. We are already planning to go to ESPN Zone restaurant. Any other ideas?

There's the new Segway Tour in DCA. If you do a search for "Segway", you should pull up some recent posts on it.

If you're taking him to ESPN, I imagine he likes sports. The Tampa Bay Bucs are still in training camp at Wide World of Sports.

The Los Angeles Angels Who Play In Anaheim will have a home stand from the 6th till the 12th. Angel Stadium is just a couple of miles away.

I second House of Blues and Lost bar. Those would be my husband's favorites from our trip. I kept watching the HOB website's calendar to see who was playing while we were there. I just got lucky that George Thoroughgood and the Destroyers (one of his favorites) happened to be playing that week.
I bought the tickets ahead of time and picked them up at will call.

DL closed at 8pm when we were there, so we watched the fireworks with the kids, niece took them back to the room, she ordered room service for dinner for the kids, we grabbed burritos from Tortilla Joes(next door to HOB) and ate them while waiting in line for HOB.

If your daughter is 5 or older and you're staying at a DLR hotel you could bring her to Pinnochio's Workshop (childcare) so you can take him out at night.

Have fun!

Oops, that's what I get for cruising the boards at 1am instead of sleeping.
:rolleyes1

I appreciate the feedback! Thanks everyone for taking the time. :)

Just a thought,but maybe girl-watching??:rolleyes1

(ps,my wife has no problem with it. as long as it's not 'too' obvious)

My dh thought he would be bored in DL, but when he saw our kids faces (ds 11 and dd 2), he didn't want to do anything but spend time in the parks with the kids. Although, he did enjoy ESPN Zone a lot!

I agree. I have 4 kids and I love spending time with them having fun. We did go to ESPN, but again, the kids had a ton of fun with all the games.
All depends on what you are looking for.

I must say that while this is not for everyone - DH was a very happy camper when I found the margarita's in DCA and the beer!!! :drinking1

The best time my DH ever had at the resort is the leather recliners at ESPN Zone. They had speakers in the head rest, and a cute girl brought him beer and snacks all afternoon.

Yes the ESPN Sports bar is a guys heaven for sure. My dad was the same way he was quite hesitant about DL and being a matcho man he though aaah DL its a place for women and children to bond haha :rotfl: But once he got there the man was literally skipping down main street and dragging me around.

He especially loved Soarin, Big Grizzley River Run, Indiana Jones, Space Mountain, Star Tours, the Matterhorn Bob Sleds, Pirates, Big Thunder at night, the gigantic sized corn dogs, the fire works, he got a kick out of the pretty ladies in short skirts in the parade throwing pearls as it reminded him of Las Vegas, and just taking his time and relaxing walking around and enjoying all the happy smells, seeing the smiles and watching everyone have a grand old time.

The first thing he said as we were leaving the DL gates to go back home was "I was wrong, when are we coming back?".

I have no doubt your husband will love the park. If not theres always the baseball Stadium near by or the channel changer in your hotel room :thumbsup2

I have to agree. Many people change there minds when they realize no one will see them and they relax.

Only my cranky, stick in the mud FIL could manage to not like it. He complained the whole time. But that is his nature.

My DH is 36 and loves it there as much as we do. He's definitely one to skip down Main Street singing. I bet yours does too!
