What's Better? Whispering Canyon or Trails End

Better location? Hard to answer since we can't tell what you really want to know. Sounds like location is important but depends on where you would be coming from and where you want to go afterwards. I refuse to chooz: My FW day plan calls for eating breakfast at Trail's End, lunch at Whispering Canyon and din-din at Artist Point. Rest of the time we bike Ft Wilderness for the day rain or shine.

We ahve had no good experiences with Whispering Canyon, so I wouldn't eat there. But that's only my opinion.

I haven't been impressed with either one. I was thoroughly disappointed in Trails End for lunch on my last trip, I'd been there many years ago (15+) and remembered great food. This time, I was shocked, given all the great reviews I've seen on the boards. Just a handful of selections of really bad food (and I have a high tolerance for subpar theme park food. :) ) that seemed to have been sitting under the lights for hours. Hardly any CMs around. It was like they'd run out of food and no one cared. Obviously they get it right sometimes, or I wouldn't get the raves that it does here. Maybe I caught them on a bad day.

WCC....well, you don't go for the food, you go for the waitstaff's antics. It's a themed restaurant, and if you want to play along with the teasing, napkin waving, stick pony races and singing, that's what it's all about. The food is good, nothing special. Typical hotel restaurant fare, except for the skillet that they're known for.

For a really good meal in that area, I'd highly recommend Kona Cafe at the Poly or the Grand Floridian Cafe.

What didn't you like about your experience? Isn't this where you can get unlimited milkshakes?

We ate lunch at WC last trip. It was okay, your basic burger. I would eat there again, if I were staying at the WL. I wouldn't make an extra trip over there, just to eat, unless it were Artist Point. We are HUGE fans of AP

We ate at Trails End last Thanksgiving because we were wanting a "rustic" experience. It was fun to take the boat ride over there. We got the atmosphere we were after, but the food was very forgettable. Golden Corral quality at twice the price.
