What's available during MGM evening EMH?

I'm having the hardest time figuring out what to do! We arrive on Thursday the 9th at noon with DD4 and DS2. My original plan was to hit MGM around 2:30, see the shows, ride a couple of rides, eat dinner, and see Fantasmic. I'm beginning to worry about my plan, though, because of many not-too-great reviews of the restaurants at MGM (we have DDP and will be eating CS) and because it doesn't allow my little one a nap. I was thinking of hanging around the resort (POR), resting, eating there, then heading to MGM in time for Fantasmic and doing what's available during EMH. Which finally comes to my question - what can we do at MGM during EMH? We're most interested in the shows because the kids are so young, but the grown-ups do want to ride some of the rides. Can you help me make up my mind?

I enjoy the restaurants to MGM, and have never had a bad experience. My favs are Prime Time Cafe and Hollywood & Vine. DD likes SciFi too. I know everyone has different expecations from their dining experience, but I have always been happy with service and quality of food - we eat at these frequently, so it's ot a once a year or two occurance.

Amazing - I can't believe that everything I was planning on doing is available during EMH! Has anyone been recently enough to remember show times? Is the park crazy crowded?
