Does anyone know what is approriate to do for the family after a death if they are Jehovah's Witness? One of Mom's co-workers passed away suddenly yesterday. Usually they send flowers and/or a meal to the family, but they aren't sure if that's appropriate based on Jehovah's Witness beliefs.

Can anyone help?

Thanks!

I don't know alot about JW beliefs, but I can't see what might be wrong with bringing a casserole/etc. No matter what one's beliefs are, there's alot that needs to be done do following a death and an emotional toll. Can't see how coming home and not having to cook a meal would be an unwelcome thing.

ETA- I found these online that both say flowers and food are appropriate.

Thanks for the links! That funeralwise site is exactly the type of thing I was trying to find last night. I'll drop it by my mom at work today.

I have family that are Witnesses...there is nothing wrong with sending flowers...or a meal or anything.
They dont celebrate Christmas or Birthdays... but there is nothing wrong with sending your condolences...
