What's a "good price" for a minivan rental, and when to book for end of Aug?

No question about it, we'll need to rent a van for our Disney trip (we have 3 boys 5, 3 and 18 months).

Some of the stuff I see online is just OUTRAGEOUS prices for a week minivan rental. I saw on another thread that the best prices come out about 7 weeks prior to the trip?

We'll be flying into MCO and needing a van Aug 23-30. What's the "good book now" rate?

We also need a van when we go. My kids are big kids, but with 6 of us a van is a must. The rentals are outrageous, especially for the vans but if you keep looking every day or so you should be able to get a pretty good price. I book one when I find a good price and then keep looking and often I can beat that price but I it's always a good idea to grab one in case the prices don't drop. I booked one tonight with Budget for $369 and unlimited miles. That's a very decent price, but hopefully I will be able to beat it. I found RentalCarMomma.com a year or two ago and it usually has the best rental car prices for Disney. I booked with Budget tonight. Just make sure the car company you book with has their rentals in the terminal. Going out of the terminal is a nightmare. It usually tells you if they are in the terminal or if you have to take a shuttle. Also, check on Mousesavers.com and go under their rental car section. They often have discount codes. I booked ours for August 14th, so not too far away from when you are going. Good luck!

Try the codes listed above and if the price seems okay I would reserve one now since they don't require a credit card. You can keep checking for better deals but you don't want to wait and then have none available. We made our Aug. reservation for a full size SUV last Sept. and got a fantastic price and looking now the prices are over double what we got.

Used this code for Aug. 11-20, (9 days, 6 hours) total including tax was $472.
I was just wondering, because I have never used a code like this or e-coupon, do I need to print coupon or anything? Compared to everything else I have checked out, this is the best price I have found so far.

We have 4 adults and 2 kids going in June. I had a minivan booked but found a code on the rental saver sight for a 7 seat SUV thru Budget for $199 a week plus tax = $258. We are flying int Sanford but the code works for MCO as well.

This is the quote direct from the site. "Use Budget BCD U102800 for a $199 per week Standard Elite SUV (seats 7) at participating airport locations. Requires a five consecutive day minimum rental and a 14-day maximum rental. Reserve by 4/7/11 for rental pickup by 6/30/11. Several blackout dates and locations apply. "

I know the code only goes thru June now but you might find a good code and coupon (you can use both) for your trip times. Have a great trip.

Thank you for this info, I tried it but could not get it to work. I am going to keep checking, because even though $472 was the best price I could find, I think it is too much. I hope I can find something less between now and Aug.

Webworm, Thank you soooo very much. I had a mini van rented for $365 corporate work code, then found a Suv for $199= $260 with tax. With your codes I got a minivan thru Budget at Sanford Airport for $298.07 then I get the $30 dollars back when I return. Ill save $65 dollars which is my parking fare for the theme parks. Thank you sooo much

I agree to book now with this code and keep looking. Check this forum regularly as well as the mousesavers website.

I actually found our best price one week before our trip in March through National (I had a rental through Budget booked with the above code as a backup). It worked out perfectly as I love National - I signed up (for free) years ago to be an Emerald Aisle member. You go straight to the garage, pick out the minivan you want, and out the door you go - no long lines to deal with.

Keep looking as prices will most likely come down.
