What's a DING???

I am fairly new to the boards, and have to ask....what the heck is a DING?? And how do I get on the list or whatever to find out about these???

What is DING! ?
DING! is a specially designed tool that brings live updates of southwest.com offers directly to your desktop, allowing you to get a jump on the latest southwest.com sales. Southwest flies out of Buffalo, with several nonstop flights. They are a LOT cheaper than flying out of Toronto. (It'll save us over $1000 by driving the 2.5 hours to Buffalo).
