...on everything?? Plane fare, hotel, food, tickets??

I ask because I quoted my sister a total of approximately $1650 for her and her 2 kids to fly down, stay 1 night at the Dolphin and 6 nights at Port Orleans Riverside, and all food and tickets. This is a rough figure, keep in mind!! If I divide that by the 3 of them, and divide that by the 6 days we'll actually be in the parks, it's under $100/day!

She was not impressed. :confused3

She had really wanted to keep it under $2000, and was hoping it would only be around $1500! This includes the dining plan, and the only thing she'd still want to buy are souvenirs. (personally, I'd rather buy my souvenirs anywhere BUT at the World because they're so expensive there, but, I'll let her discover that. ;) )

Anyone willing to share their costs?

You're better than me.... ours looks to be around $145/person/day. Still worth it to us!!:thumbsup2

10 nights
flying out of toronto
2 rooms at pop4 adults
dining plan
10 day hopper plus water parks
$160.00 a day

Airfare from NY $1000
11 nights at the ASsp w/free dining, water parks $2246

4 people (2 adults/2 "adult" kids)

$74 night pp

Not bad!

$74/night is great, chabs!

I guess I should break down her costs a bit more:

Her share of our package will be about $1100. That's the 6 nights at Port Orleans Riverside, tickets and dining. I have enough points using my starwood AMEX card to get a night at the Dolphin for $60. Since we're arriving late at night, we're just going straight there, no parks that first day.

Her plane fare for 3 people is $516. So that's $1616. We'll probably just rent a car to get us to the Dolphin from Sanford airport, and likewise rent one to get us back. I figure it will be about $40 for her share of the rentals.

That's $1656. Divided by 3 people is $532. Divided by 7 nights is $79 each night!

$2258 6 days/5 nights at Animal Kingdom Lodge, 6 days MYW Fun, discounted deluxe dining

$400 flight (via that awesome SW sale a few days ago)

those numbers are each for 2 people sharing 1 room

Total of $2658/6 = $443/day

but "only" $221.50 per person/per day

Depends on *when* as well...
We are a family of 4 doing 10 days at POP in December with regular dining BUT with a FREE dining pin code :goodvibes, 10 day park hoppers, :goodvibes for a total of $1986.
Haven't booked airfare yet..hoping for under $200 per person. And we always get a rent a car (hoping for about $200). Since we will be there for the holiday season (and I LOVE to shop at WDW) I am budgeting some serious spending money..(no need to reveal my $ amount there:blush:) Also another important thing to budget for..OOP for the food on the dining plan (extra snacks or breakfasts, adult drinks :rolleyes1 and tips).

sooo..tickets, dining, room, and airfare (if i get my wish) (minus the rent a car & OOP spending):
approx:
$278 per day / or $70 per per person per day.

We are a family of 3 staying 10 nights at POFQ with free dining. If you add in fuel costs (we're driving), 10 day tickets with park hoppers, a few extras and DD's souvenirs we're at about $100 a day for each of us. $3000 total for a 10 day vacation for an entire family is not bad IMO!:thumbsup2

Ours is $83.53/day/person for 4 nights/4 day base tickets/free dining for 2 adults and 2 kids (one of the kids is under 3, so she's free). Now, granted, this doesn't include gas or the hotel we'll overnight halfway there, and I divided by 4 even though we're only paying for 3 people, but it's still pretty good.

2 Adults/1 Junior/1 Child for 5 nights/6 days at Pop/preferred room w/ Free Dining Pin and Park Hoppers for: $1686.94

RT Airfare from BWI to MCO for 4: 684.80

Grand Total: $2371.71 or

$98.82 a Day!! :)

(We have $215 in Disney Reward points to spend and my kids each got a Disney gift card w/$75 for spending money from their Aunt - so we don't anticipate spending too much above this amount)

Here's my deal:
7 nights at Pop Century with free dining, one adult, two teens, one 8 year old(basically 3 adults and one child). 6 day base tickets, no insurance is $1574.46. Flights out of PIT are $137.50 each total (on Southwest we get to check 2 bags free and no layover!) That's $1986.96 divided by 4 people equals $70.96 per day.

I'd say your deal looks great especially since yours is a moderate and one night at a deluxe. The initial sticker shock gets people but it is a great deal. The longer you stay the less your cost will be per day so maybe she should add a few days:rotfl:

Seriously, she may not have the money right now or may be feeling a bit worried about the economy so even if it was $50 a day it would still be too much.

I just did the math on our last trip.

$1700 for flight for 6 from San Francisco to MCO.
$1325 for park tickets
$1800+ for 7 nights at CSR (two rooms)
$1,000 for food and souvenirs

Total of approximately $165 per person per day.

Seriously, she may not have the money right now or may be feeling a bit worried about the economy so even if it was $50 a day it would still be too much.

Yup, my thoughts too. She's going through a divorce and is waiting for a big check to come. She's trying to find a new place to live, and I think she's starting to think of all the things she could do with the extra $1650.

Her heart knows that her kids have been through a lot in the last 2 years, and she wants to give them a great time that they'll never forget. Her brain is saying to use that money on something more practical.

For example, this quote does not include park hoppers. She thinks it's too much money for them. I'd love them, but I'm letting her decide. She can always add them once we get there. The one night at the Dolphin, I'm paying for with my starwood points, and she won't have to worry about that. I convinced her to get the meal plan because it really will be a great deal for her. She wanted us to sneak all 5 of us into a value room, but I put my foot down!! :sad2:

2 adults, 1 kid

7 nights POFQ
6 day non-hopper tickets
QSDP
$1980

flight from Newark to Orlando/Continental
$600.00

1 day car rental from Alamo
$27.00

Approx. $124 pp per day.

Mine is $75.55 a day per person. We are going for 14 nights, air, hotel (POP), QSDP and 11 day base tickets is total $4231.US. 2 Adults, 1 12 yr, 1 9yr.

As of right now, $94.28 per person, but I'm really hoping for a better discount to come along (and it likely will). That's for:
2 adults, 1 4 yr old.
11/29-12/6 at Pop, non-pref, AAA rate
Basic dining
7 day tix, no extras
Driving from ATL (I included $100 for gas)

Of course there are also other costs that aren't included- souvenirs (although we'll get a b-day fun card, so that'll probably take care of that), a couple of breakfasts (we'll eat in the room, but it's still going to cost something), etc.

Come on free dining!!!! That would save us another $551, which would put us at about $68/day/person.

I’m going to come off sounding a bit condescending here, but I can’t think of any other way to word this so I am apologizing in advance.

$1650 for a 7 night vacation for 3 people is excellent.

I know you are only dividing by 6 because you will only be in the park 6 days, but if you do that, then you really should take 1 night off the total, OR you should divide by 7.

By my math the entire vacation is $1650/7/3 = $78.53 per person per day.
Or remove $140 for the 1 night at the Dolphin and you have $1510/6/3 = $83.88 per person per day.

Now think about it, $83.88 includes all transportation, lodging, food and entertainment and WOW!!

Or think about it another way.
Room = $140 Rack rate
Park admission = $50 per day
Food = $12 Breakfast, $16 Lunch, $25 Dinner = $53 per day

Whatever way you slice it, you have a great deal here.

So now to my Vacation.

$1900 for 2 people 8 days all inclusive.

That’s $118.75 per person per day.

But remember that includes Flights ($580)

So my cost from Disney is $1320 or $82.5 per person per day.

Considering that rack rate for the POP at that time is $82 AND that an $82 per night for a room is a good no matter where you are, that’s like getting my Food and Park admission free !!!

All in all I am a happy camper!

She sounds like a good mom who is trying to do what is best for her kids. I wouldn't pressure her because if she doesn't get that big check before you go to Disney with her she may resent spending the money on the trip. Those feelings may come out on the trip and ruin your vacation.

It does sound like her kids have had a rough time but they will not really be able to enjoy the vacation if they sense that mom is worried about paying for it.

I've only had hoppers once and only used it to hop once so I never add that option anymore. If I was to add anything it would be the waterpark and more option. It's almost like hopping if you go to a waterpark in the morning and a park at night. Because they both cost about the same to add I think you get more for your money with the waterpark option. That being said, I think she will be happier with no options added because no matter where you are if you are worried about money or other stresses waiting at home, you simply can't enjoy yourself.

I really hope she gets that big check soon and you are able to all go and have a great time.

Ok here it is

850.00 airfare for 4 including seat assigments and bags out of PWM non-stop this was a must. I think we did good there . I bought my youngest a ticket there is no way she could sit in my lap for 3 hours.

2042.00 For Carribean Beach Resort got a free dining pin for our dates 10/24 to 10/31. Please remeber there is one infant. We just did the basic tickets we never hop and we have tons of water park tickets if we decied to go.

I didn't include tips,MNSSHP tickets or souviner money. We just went in April for 2 weeks and stayed at POFQ so we are only giving the girls 75.00 to100.00 each for the week. No Bibbidi Bobbdi boutiques this time. My oldest has a birthday in August and my mom is giving her a GC to the world so she will have a little more $$. I do plan on going to the Christams store and spending some $$ and of course a sweatshirt and a few other items. We are trying to figure out tip $$ right now.

Everyone have a great trip.
