I'm not sure if this was meant to be a rhetorical question, but I'll answer it anyway - Global Warming is an average of temperatures across the entire globe, so the unusual cool and wet weather we've been experiencing in the Northeast is being counterbalanced by unusually hot weather elsewhere. I hear that Florida has been hotter than average for the last several weeks. In fact, this past winter turned out to be one of the warmest ever on record across the United States because of the warmth in the Western part of the country and Alaska.
I just hope that it doesn't just jump from winter to summer without a nice period of 70s and 80s in between. I have a funny feeling that one day it will suddenly be 95 degrees and it will be blazing hot for three months.
