What your favorite Christmas special says about you.

Hmm... My suburban, Christmas-carol blaring, multi-colored light tree, decorated house, and two dogs disagree with their assessment of people who love "How the Grinch Stole Christmas," but it's been my favorite since I was a kid.

I have not seen any one of those movies. My two are Elf and A Christmas Story. I can't believe A Christmas Story didn't get a write-up.

I think all the ones listed are 1/2 hour TV specials, not movies.

That was cute. Mine was true there's a real fun streak hidden in all that angst, and you'd like nothing better than to dance and drink your troubles away at the end of a really confusing day. I would rather let it all go at the end of the day than hold onto hard feeings. I'll create my own happy endings! :goodvibes

None of these were movies, just Christmas specials that are usually only 1/2 - 1 hour long.

The Grinch is DH fav too. And he is ready to put the Christmas stuff up before I am.

I love "Charlie Brown" (on tonight on ABC at 8:00). Some of it is true, especially the part that I "rarely set foot in a church."

OMG! So many fellow Charlie Brown Christmas Special people here! I wonder if it has more to do with age rather than the show itself?

My favorite wasn't on the list (Nestor the Long Earred Christmas Donkey) but no one ever really knows that one. Charlie Brown Christmas is a very close second though!!! :goodvibes

Me too! I had to laugh since it was sooo far off the mark. How come they focus on the "grinch" part and not on the "Christmas is more than just presents" part?? :lmao:

We love Nestor. He is on one of the disc we have. A couple of years ago, we got one of those 4 disc packs with several of the Christmas speicals on it. Nestor is one of those that a lot of people don't know about, I will agree.

I always felt a strange kinship with poor Rudolph... and now I know why!

wow mine was WAYYYY off. I LOVE Rudolph, but this says that i am insecure (hahahahahaha) and am afraid of what others think about me, definitely not true. Also says that these people are either in performing arts (i'd get the hook on a stage in about .5 seconds) or into finance (maybe if I could actually count when it comes to math).

False! but fun to see anyway :)

Mine is Charlie Brown (Charlie Brown is my favorite holiday special no matter the holiday).

You are a romantic and probably practice hot yoga. You bemoan the loss of spirituality and real magic that Christmas had when you were a kid. You may also be prone to wishful thinking, which your friends cruelly call immaturity behind your back. But your conflictedness about the overcommercialism of Christmas and the lack of attention paid to Jesus's birth does honestly disturb you, though you rarely set foot in a church. But there's a real fun streak hidden in all that angst, and you'd like nothing better than to dance and drink your troubles away at the end of a really confusing day.

Other than the "Jesus's birth" part (I'm not religious at all) it is pretty accurate.

Not all of them are half hour specials. Nightmare Before Christmas is in there for some reason.

My favorite is Frosty the Snowman, but I'm not exactly Mary Sunshine.

Mine is "Nightmare Before Christmas"
Only truth to this is I do like "thrills" and I do tell the truth. The rest...not so much. I am actually compared to "Pollyana" a lot. ha ha

You are also a thrill seeker and truth teller--people brace themselves for your opinions because you make it crystal clear that you are always unhappy with the world as it exists and never satisfied with the status quo, and doubt that anybody ever knows their real motivation for anything they do. A fateful summer with Foucault sometime in college hardened you to festive Winter Wonderlands, and you suspect the symbolism of the season has evil intent. You may also be prone to gossiping.

I picked "Santa Claus is Coming to Town". I just always liked the format - the narrated letters and all.

It says I'm a romantic, resistant to change, and give good presents.
