Omgosh! What stunning pictures, so vivid and the colors so intense. Isn't the animal kingdom just incredible...wow...how beautiful the creatures are. I think I might have been on the safari when you took some of these pictures, but never saw it quite like this! wow. Just amazing to see the faces and markings and the eyes. Love all of them, but especially the owl and lion. Thanks for posting these.

Beautiful pics, Dave - as I suspected they would be.

According to our tour guide, the male roars twice a day...in the morning, and late afternoon/evening, to establish territory. It wasn't an MGM lion-type roar, but as the tour guide said, more like he was coughing up a hairball. (I've heard it referred to as "whuffing") He also paced around the large rock up there. It was so cool to see him show any signs of movement.

Wow. awesome pics, Dave! That Safari ride-a-thon was a highlight of our trip for me, & seeing your pics brings it all right back!
