What would you volunteer for if you had the time/resources?

I'd volunteer for the Vancouver symphony. But, it's too far to get to easily. I'd happily usher and get to hear a concert for free. :thumbsup2

Anything dealing with children or animals. Love them both.

I did ask to volunteer to take care of the elderly after my parents died, ended up with a paying job. I just can't do that anymore, they keep LEAVING me.... :sad1:

There is an equine rescue about an hour and 20 minutes from us. DD and I would be there regularly if it was a little closer.

I did 7 years of heavy volunteering with a children's organization and got so burnt out that I had to completely walk away.

My next volunteering stint will involve animal rescue.

I would help as many single parents as i could...

I would love to run a children's theatre for the kids in the city. I helped do that in New Hampshire, but here I do not know the ropes or where to find the help. Maybe someday:rolleyes1

I have the privilege of volunteering at the Texas Special Olympics last year. It was 3 days and I loved it. Can't wait to do it again.

I'd volunteer for CASA (child advocate.) Hopefully next year, when my dd is in preschool, I'll be able to start this. I've wanted to do it for a few years now, but haven't been able to yet. I'd also like to do work against domestic violence.

This is a great topic. :) :goodvibes

I would volunteer at our local library. I also would read to the elderly that no longer have sight.

I would love to be a foster parent. I'd even adopt if I could. I wish there was something I could do to help some of those poor children in Haiti. I'd really just like to make a big difference to people in need somehow.

I would love to do a volunteer vacation. I would also love to volunteer at our local VA hospital.

I would LOVE to be a volunteer at St. Jude Children's Hospital..:lovestruc

It's my number one charitable organization..:goodvibes

I volunteer in my oldest son's elementary school.

I help in his class, I work school score, I coordinate the cartridge/toner/cell phone recycling, paper recycling, campbells labels for education and a local grocery store fundraising program.

I am a CASA... I was tickled to see your post!!
I hope you are able to join our ranks soon. We need you! :goodvibes

I'd love to volunteer at the Best Friends sanctuary:thumbsup2

I would do more with a rabbit rescue shelter if I had the time. I fostered three homeless bunnies last year (and adopted two of them!) but I would love to be able to go in once or twice a week and take care of the bunnies.

I volunteer for the Visiting Nurse Association, even though I know nothing about nursing. Every year they hold a huge rummage sale to raise money, and I volunteer there - sorting, pricing, selling, whatever they need! It's a lot of nitty-gritty work, but a lot of fun too! We are literally out in a field in tents and barns for a month getting ready for the sale! I usually work 60 plus hours in that month volunteering.

I wanted to volunteer for years, and now I finally coud since it fits my work schedule. :)
