I feel for you! I recently had a co-worker ask me to help her plan her trip to WDW. Of course I said, "Sure! When are you going?" Her reply......"Tomorrow."

I hadn't even thought about the water parks. That's a good idea! And, since I've never been to them, I can't be held responsible for how much fun they have there. ;-). Lol

Thanks for all of the advice. I think I'll tell her that we always plan months in advance, so I'm not sure how to help her. Maybe I can convince her to wait and try it some other time...

If they are dead set against Epcot, then I would recommend MK and DHS. Ak is our least favorite park.

Epcot is nice but the science portion is just so so... Still a good choice just not for science...

Have them read easywdw and show them the one day plans and let them know about FP+

I assume they will have access to a vehicle? Since they are staying off property, and there isn't really a big savings between a one day and a two day ticket, I would actually recommend one day at MK and a day at Sea World. I agree with the suggestion of going to KSC and then hitting a beach in the afternoon. If the timeshare is free to them for the week, they could even book a hotel for one night over in Cape Canaveral or Cocoa Beach and just take an overnight bag with them, so they could get their beach fix.

I'm with the group that says give them some website suggestions and a guidebook and wish them luck. I have a hard time giving vacation advice to anyone who already comes into it with "this is everything I DON'T want to do" attitude. Vacations are meant to be enjoyed--and yes, that means trying to have something enjoyable for everyone in your family or party--but Disney is no ordinary vacation. Best of luck to you--and them!

I'd also say DHS and MK, simply because DHS does have more rides than AK.

If they have a free timeshare, the week is probably locked in so they have no flexibility with dates. I would really be encouraging them to skip Disney, and theme parks in general. It seems like they're not really committed to Disney and they're going to go and hate the crowds. They'll likely get their 3 FP+ selections (and pickings will be slim) and then they'll be waiting in hour+ lines for everything else, because I can imagine that they won't want to RD, which will be essential that time of year. So if they get 2 day tickets, they're going to be spending $800 to ride 6 rides with short waits in two days, and then stand in line the rest of the time. This trip sounds like a recipe for disaster.

I read as far as this post and immediately hit the "like" button. "Skip Disney" was my instant thought on reading the OP. I would bet money that the majority of miserable, obnoxious guests at WDW are people who really don't want to be there but feel obligated because of "the kids." "Recipe for disaster," indeed!
