What would you say is your best family vacation

We are self-proclaimed lazy fat-a$$e$, but surprisingly enough, I think our favorite vaca was when we went to Chimney Rock, NC and hiked! Granted, it's not full-on mountain hiking, but it was taxing enough for me to realize that I needed to quit smoking and get fit!

After we did CR, we drove from Asheville to the southern endpoint of the Blue Ridge Parkway, then back home to FL on I-75. It was a long drive, but lots of quality time for the family.

Ours included Disney but other places too. The last time DH went with us, we drove to Florida and spent three nights in St Augustine. St Augustine is fascinating and we all loved it there. The next three nights were at one of the Loew's hotels at Universal and that was amazing too. DS and I turned into confirmed Universal freaks on that trip. (DH doesn't care about any themeparks.) Then it was off to AKL for a few nights but I won't go into that.

I loved this vacation but we've been lucky to have some good ones over the years! We all three took a trip to Los Angeles and San Diego several years back and that was a great trip too. That one would probably be the second best.

I think my favorite (when the kids were about 6 and 9) was Yellowstone and Grand Tetons.
they loved running around and seeing all the cool rocks and mud stuff....and the geysers. Also fishing. Staying in a cabin. And going rafting on the Snake River.
It was a lot of fun for everyone.

A few years ago, we went with DH's family on a family vacation to Alaska and Vancouver that included a cruise. It was the most fun I've ever had on a trip. There is so much outdoorsy stuff to do there!

Hm...I'm not sure I have a favorite per se, I've been a lot of places personal and business with some personal mixed in, and although there may have been an aspect I didn't like about the trip here and there, overall, I always find something amazing and wonderful to do, see or take part in.

3. Actually my bf's favorite vacation together is when we went to Roanoke, VA. It helped that it was a BEAUTIFUL week and we did all sorts of things like hiking, long drives down Blue Ridge Parkway, train rides, white water rafting, water tubing, star gazing at night, etc.

Kiawah Island SC. Great beach, tons of outdoorsy sports to do and within 20 minutes of downtown Charleston.
We LOVE it here.

There are a lot of places I love. But since we are talking about family vacations I would say Hilton Head has been my favorite (other than Disney) so far. I loved how laid back it was. The beach was nice, very few people and we had a great time also discovering the marshes as well.

Besides Disney (and many were special with family/friends),

I would say our 11 N. DCL Med. cruise, followed by our Eastern and Western DCL cruises.

There are many other great places we have visited in the country and outside of the country. I would rather just pick the two vacations that were at the bottom of our list.

Colonial Williamsburg and Busch Gardens in VA -- plus a trip to Virginia Beach! Except for Disney, that has to be the best place to spend a week.

Oh, and for quick jaunts I love going to Lake Erie, especially Put-In-Bay in the Lake Erie Islands.

I'm so glad to hear this - our family is spending 4 days at Colonial Williamsburg and 3 at Virginia Beach this year. The one that comes up repeatedly in our family is Niagara Falls (Canada side).

we LOVEEEE the embassy suites hotel in minneapolis (airport)!! And we visit the sites in the city. I think it is "our place" now so that is why it is our favorite.

I loved Hawaii! We did a 'split stay' at Waikiki and Maui. A few years ago we went on a cruise to Mexico, Cayman, and Jamaica. Any place warm is always fine with me!

Last summer we went to Stone Mountain & Gatlinburg, TN, it was so much fun. We're going back to Gatlinburg in May.

We've had several, but our recent favorite was Northern California this last summer. We did 2 days in San Fran, 2 in Yosemite, and 2 in Tahoe. We had stops along the way at the Jelly Belly factory and Gold country. There was so much for all ages to enjoy--we had grandparents down to a 3 year old on the same trip and it was a truly incredible and beautiful trip. We ended it with fireworks over the SF bay on the 4th of July. AWESOME

I love when we go camping in Lake George.

Besides Disney, we go to Cape Cod every year and stay in a cottage on a bluff overlooking a Town Cove and the ocean. We clam and fish and go to the lake to swim. And we have a sitter up there, so DH and I go out a couple of nights for dinner.

We also really enjoyed our trips to St. Augustine beach. We stayed at a campground there with about 25 other people.
