DH and I have reservations at WDW from 12/17-12/22, 2004. We are booked at SSR and today I received a call that our waitlist for BWV came through. I have until tomorrow to decide if we make the switch. We have stayed at all the DVC resorts except SSR and thought we would stay there this trip since it's new. Our primary goal this trip is to see the Christmas decorations all over the World and at all the resorts as we've never been to WDW at Christmastime before. Should we stay at SSR or move to BWV for this trip. By the way the BWV reservation is for our entire stay, preferred garden or pool view and we have enough points for the increase in point total.

I would keep my ressies at SSR, since that's the one resort you haven't stayed. SSR is very nice and not very crowded, yet.

Enjoy.

Since you waitlisted for BWV, I'm guessing that's where you wanted to stay. So, that's my vote, go to BWV and enjoy and sometimes when SSR is your first choice, go then.

Considering the time of the year, I would definitely go to BWV. The lobby is decorated so beautifully. It's great to just hop over to Epcot or MGM for their Christmas activities. I love listening to the Christmas music while walking on the Boardwalk.

Now I can't stand the wait! ;) 43 days to go!!!!

I'd have to say Boardwalk - mainly due to the holiday decorations and proximity to Epcot. SSR will be there to try on your next trip - we went at Xmas last year (staying at BWV) and I'd have to say it's pretty awesome. Yacht & Beach Club/BCV's decorations are nice, too.

How about staying at SSR the first night, then moving to BWV for the remainder of your stay? That's what I've done when trying out a new resort-stay there just one night, then if I hate it, I'm only committed to the one night, but if I like it I can always return on a future trip and stay longer. Only thing is that I've done this at several DVC resorts-one night at BWV, one night at BCV, one night at OKW, and in every case I've ended up scheduling another trip to stay exclusively at that resort because I found I DIDN'T hate it, I loved it! And in January, I try out SSR for one night. If you do that, you get to see SSR decorations and then stay at BWV, which you know you love-and I think Epcot is really "where it's happening" for the most part at Christmas.

It's like baby's first Christmas over at SSR this year. If you're gonna stay there at some point over the holidays in year's to come, this is the year to do it. I say no contest. SSR.

My vote - at the holidays, the BWV. Not only for the villas but for the entire Boardwalk ambience.

Thanks to those who replied. DH and I have decided to keep our SSR reservation. Afterall, how can we go wrong with a new resort and a new DVC experience. Hope that someone who's still on the waitlist for BWV gets a call later today as I just called MS and told them we were staying with our SSR reservation.

Boardwalk is beautiful at Christmas. I say go for that, but it's purely a personal choice.

Have fun either place!
