We are visiting Dec 6-11. We are arriving at the park around 2PM on the night of the candlelight processional (6th Sunday). I know that the crowds will be insane at DL park. Will the ride waits also be insane? If we still decide to visit DL park instead of CA, what would you suggest doing as an itinerary that evening? Or, would you suggest just visiting CA that evening? It will be two adults and our 3yo daughter. Thanks in advance!

I believe crowds will be busy regardless of what is going on. The parks are just busy. You might want to enjoy California Adventure, Buena Vista Street, Bugs Land, Little Mermaid attraction with your daughter, and hit Disneyland bright and early on Monday.

I agree that the parks will be very busy, but the parks have been busy in general, especially on weekends. I think CP will result in more people in the parks, but I don't know that the lines for the attractions are going to be that much longer (my sense is that folks coming to see CP are there to see CP and will be hanging around on MS in hopes of getting a good spot). There will be some spill over effect, but it might not be super bad (relative to another Sunday in Dec - crowds are just bigger than historic in general this year since the start of the 60th Celebration). It's worth noting that things like the Train and Jungle Cruise usually shut down for CP. If you do go to DL, I would avoid Main Street as much as possible. Otherwise, I do think going to DCA is probably a good plan.

We use our CP sunday nights to tour DTD and take in all the extra little elements in the hotels and DTD. It also is crowded, but gives that feel of NYC or downtown London street scene feel for Christmas. It has that holiday crush feel of a big event happening.

We are also arriving around 2pm on Sunday the 6th. We're bringing two people who have never been to Disneyland, so I want them to have that initial Town Square/Main Street/Castle reveal experience, but will probably avoid Main Street for the rest of the day after that. What time is the CandleLight Processional, anyway? I keep checking the schedule on the official DLR website, but they don't even mention it.

According to the information posted in the Candlelight Processional 2015 thread, the show times are 5:30 pm and 7:45 pm. Candlelight Processional doesn't show up on the Disneyland entertainment calendar because it's actually not something they advertise/promote. It's technically a "private" event, it just happens to be held somewhere that the general public can see.

your desire to see Main street reveal is not going to happen to your expectations. Best to stay right turnstyle, go to Lincoln sidewalk and take that new pathway and then boom....come out onto the castle reveal

Candlelight performances are at 5:30 and 7:45, but might never appear on the official schedules (online or printed).

For PP and OP, I recommend watching Fantasmic on Sunday.

I'm not sure getting there between 2 and 3pm will be in time to pull fastpasses for the last Fantasmic show. I'd assume they'd be all taken by then....but just in case, we plan on going to the fastpass machines as soon as we have our "This is Disneyland" castle moment.
