I'm just wondering what everyone does with the time their child attends the pirate cruise? I understand this one leaves at the Beach Club marina near Epcot. I don't want to do any spa type activities and it's really too early for lunch. Is there anything more adult orientated nearby that my DH and I could take advantage of without our 4 y/o for the 2 hours that morning?

Any thoughts appreciated!

we enjoy having a leisurely breakfast and a wander around the resort. We sit out and read newspapers etc too.

We love that time together! its sooo peaceful!

Similarly, my son is going on the pirate cruise out of the GF and so we're having a late breakfast at the Grand Floridian Cafe (and we'll probably walk around the resort).

For Albatross cruise you could walk into Epcot.

Our kids are going to do the pirate cruise and we will enjoy breakfast, we are staying at the poly, we thought we would go back to the beach there to catch them when they arrive to say HI! and then go back to the GF for their return.

Thanks for your responses! I didn't even think of breakfast... or just relaxing! We are planning on eating breakfast in the villa every day, but we can just skip it that morning and check out what's offered at the Beach Club. I think I am beginning to over analyze things and am missing the obvious! Thanks again! :)

You could take a walk along the boardwalk too :)

Enjoy

Cape May at BC is nice for breakfast too or the Galley at YC

Off topic---Just wanted to say that I'm Jordan's Mom too. My 8 year old son is Jordan Chase!

We are planning to explore the Yacht and Beach Clubs and walk the Boardwalk. We haven't been to the Boardwalk since we stayed there in 98. When the kids did the pirate cruise we took the monorail to the contemporary and Poly just to explore. When they did the Grand Adventures in Cooking we were changing resorts so we went to CSR to check in.

We walked over to the boardwalk and ate a late breakfast at the bakery and just strolled around and RELAXED.

If I were in your shoes, I would enjoy some "adult" time with my DH...eating breakfast in peace, taking a stroll around the Boardwalk, maybe getting a short massage at a near-by spa...enjoy whatever 'adult time' means to you ;) .

agnes!

Our DS did the pirate cruise last year, so DH and I went into MK and rode some "big kid" rides, we didn't have to "baby swap" so we got to ride them together........... that was really nice!!!!

Hi, just wondering...what is the GRAND ADVENTURES IN COOKING??

Do some shopping in the Epcot stores. My kids DESPISE shopping, unless it is for them!! LOL!

We had breakfast at Spoodles. By the time the boat took off, we walked back to the BW, ate a slow breakfast, walked back to the Y&BC, checked out the lobby there and the public areas, the boat was pulling back in full of pirates.

It is at the GF, the kids get to decorate chef hats, aprons, make and bake some cookies, then when they are done, they walk around the lobby of the GF and pass them out to guest..... they get to keep the hat and aprons. Our DS is not too interested in this (yet)...... but, I have seen a lot of boys do it. Not sure if you have a boy or girl, but I think this is fun for both......... my DS really liked the pirate cruise though!!!

Grand Adventures In Cooking is a program where the kids get to gether at the Grand Floridian and make dirt and worms. They then take it in to the lobby at and hand it out to guests in the area. They make their own chef's hat and apron. My DD did it last summer when she was 6 and had a blast. She would definetly recommend it!

Maybe I'm in the minority here (except for agnes), but I think DH and I would use that alone time back at our hotel room. :rolleyes1

Just think, you could be like that DCL commercial about bringing home a little souveneer! ;)

That was the motivation behind buying DVC. Not the souvienier though (gee, I hope not!)

It was enough time to hop in the car and go over to the LBV outlet stores for a little bit of 10am window browsing and shopping and then back over for the 1130 pirates back to home waters

cheers
