What would you do? July with 30% off or hold out hope for late August Free dining? UPDATE- booked early summer. Just couldn't handle the anxiety. lol:crazy2: We saved a nice chunk of cash and we get to go sooner. All good!

I am so confused. I have everything booked Aug 20-30 Poly CL for five. ADRs are made etc. I am now wondering if I should bump up our dates and get the 30% off for July. Most of our preferred dining spots are still available. The price difference isn't a whole lot IF free dining happens.

I am worried that there may not be a promo offered for the late August time frame.

We have only ever gone in late August and I have no idea how the crowds will be.

Any advice would be appreciated.

I am sure there will be SOMETHING....there usually is.....right now hey are just trying to get the summer booked then it will be late summer - fall time. You may mot get free di ing...but I would bet something will come up

I am sorry, I do not have advice. I will be watching for what others say.

This is what freaks me out about diving into DW planning! Planning far out and hoping for the discounts! I am going to be a mess for the next year!!

Good luck OP!!!!

I would much rather be in WDW with the low crowds (and value season prices) in late August than with the higher crowds of July- discount or no discount.

That being said, I'm sure that some kind of discount will come out eventually for late Aug/Sept. I have my doubts about free dining, though. Even if that does come out, there will no doubt also be a room only discount. I would think that with a Poly CL reservation for 5, a room discount would be a much better deal than free dining anyway. Especially if they repeat the current 30% off deal.

OK. You are probably right. I am so anxious about it that I am second guessing myself at every turn. So there is a big difference in the crowd level between Mid July and late August?

I think so. Easywdw.com is showing crowd level predictions of 8/9 for July 14-20 (mid month). Your dates in Aug (20-30) show crowd level predictions of 4-6.

Definitely a big difference as most American schools are back in session by mid August so the crowds start to thin out.

Sums up my take on this. Go in late August ... normal RO discounts ... no FD.

I suspect late August will follow this pattern.

Keep your late August dates. We always go at that time. Crowds are lower, room rates are lower, and discounts tend to be higher.

I will say, after 2 CL stays, I would opt for room discount over dining. Our first CL stay we had DDP. Total waste. Our second CL stay we did things differently and went without DDP.

Breakfast in CL, had TS late lunch, and dinner time we had the Appies in the lounge. And dessert. If we were still hungry, we could always go grab something from the resort CS. But we never were. With a big lunch, we found all we needed at night was some Appies.

So with only paying for 1 meal, lunch, plus CL offerings, it was way cheaper to take the room discount, and go without the DDP.

Our first CL stay aside from breakfast we didn't enjoy the CL offerings, because we were always going out to a TS dinner, and knew if we had CL snacks we wouldn't be hungry for dinner.
