What would you do? July with 30% off or hold out hope for late August Free dining?

I am so confused. I have everything booked Aug 20-30 Poly CL for five. ADRs are made etc. I am now wondering if I should bump up our dates and get the 30% off for July. Most of our preferred dining spots are still available. The price difference isn't a whole lot IF free dining happens.

I am worried that there may not be a promo offered for the late August time frame.

We have only ever gone in late August and I have no idea how the crowds will be.

Any advice would be appreciated.

If it was me I would just go in july! I LOVE free dining but Disney has been a little unpredictable this year! We went last august and had our free dining discount in early march. We are already into april and still nothing! That would worry me! As far as the crowds, I have never noticed a difference. Im either totally oblivious or all of my trips have been the same crowd level. We have gone in mid may x2, mid july x1, late Aug x1 and mid dec x1. I hope no matter what you decide you have a great trip! Good luck!

I agree with the previous PP about taking the July discount especially since there has been rumors (and from a credible source) on another thread that if FD does comes out it may not start until the 24th or even the 26th of August. It has also been mentioned that there could be a possibility the week of 8/18 may be excluded from any promo. So unless you are flexible and can move your dates even further out in August, you're taking a risk.

just my 2 cents, but it's usually the airfare that drives when I can go. it just worked out end of june for us and leaving home on Canada day before summer camp starts. at least for us flying out of BUF, airfare's started to creep up and had to pull the trigger...thankfully I did since August/July are now much more.

we did FD in Oct. but will do hotel only at AKL.

I would wait....I think there will be Free Dining OR at least another room only discount and later in August airfare is cheaper, the rooms are cheaper and it's less crowded. I work at a school so I have to go in the beginning of August, but if I could go later I definitely would!!!!!

I was waiting for a late August discount. Booked 8/15 to 8/25. Of course discounts ended 8/14. We decided to change our vacation back to July and not wait. Really impressed with this years Summer discount offer. It is a good thing we booked our airfare with SW. Have changed trip dates for the third time!

We are scheduled to go August 18-24 at the POR with hopes for a discount. I checked out a week in July and the airfare is about 100.00 cheaper... so only 25.00 per person (family of 4) The room we have is only about 125.00 cheaper than the rack rates in August that I booked under. so is 250.00 worth all the changes.... eh... BUT I looked and we could upgrade to AKL for about 175.00 more than our package price we have now... and with the cheaper airfare it works to be about 100.00 more to upgrade to July and AKL. So do i hold tight with my current ressie and hope that we are not blacked out of the world of discounts or move to July and switch to AKL??? I DONT KNOW WHAT TO DO! I would love to think we will get SOME kind of discount for August and I could end up saving money but... if not..... THOUGHTS?
