What would you do if your teen daughter became pregnant???

holy crap, we're the same age. that really scares the hell out of me. :crazy2:
Excuse me? Trying to decide if should be offended or not.

But, yup, I remember the hostages, tried to moonwalk, and had my mom take my "Like a Virgin" album away, not once, but twice, (guess she thought the stores would run out of copies.)

Please tell me you were not in that group of guys who wore so much Polo cologne that classrooms reaked of it.

We may be the same age, but while you were off doing God-knows-what, I was being an angel .

I have to admit, I was a sucker for the Polo drenched guys.

So if an accident does happen and he does get his gf pregnant you bet I'll will be 100% supportive and help as much as I can.. I won't force marraige but if they decide that is what they want then fine by me too.. Would I be disappointed.. sure.. But, I'd never treat him like my parents did, especially when I know, he'll need me the most...

Great post! :thumbsup2 I agree. I'd hate to think when my kid needs my support most, I wouldn't be there for her or him.

Oh, God. I hated it. But I still think guys looked better then than they do now, with their punk pants, peeps hats, and general dissheveledness.

They wrote that 1985 song about me, I think.

just a joke, MW. I just thought it was weird that we're at two different ends of the spectrum given we're the same age.

my Polo use was quite conservative, I didn't bathe in it. :)

Kinda figured. I can't believe you wore Polo. Another reason for me to pray for your soul, which I'm off to do now.

I married a great guy. He doesn't ignore me, cheat on me, or beat me. He makes me laugh and feel very safe and happy. He just has some fun at my expense. And, of course, since he's in the passing lane on the superhighway to hell, I have to pray for his soul, too.

You two can send me postcards while you're down in hell. I'll get my buds, the angels and saints, to pray for you.

I can't believe you owned Madonna albums. I may embrace Christianity for a few moments to pray for yours. :)

Ok, when I am feeling frisky...sometimes my DH will wear Polo, for the nostalgia. I am woman enough to admit...I LIKE it!!!!

Little by little, I'm winning you over.

You never went to church with ulterior motives, did you?

Woman enough? Try crazy enough. ;)

I am woman, too (hear me roar). That stuff stank like I don't even know what. Ug.

LOL...to each their own. Yeah, it's sort of crazy...but I also get all nostalgic if I smell Jovan Musk...that really takes me back...

that stuff was liquid sex in a bottle in the 80's.

Is that why guys wore so much of it? It worked?! It was everywhere - school, mall, skating rink, dates... Now I get it. 20 years later, I finally get it.

If I don't go to bed now, I'm gonna pass out. And then I can't pray for you.

I never went to church with any motive other than not falling asleep. but I did find God when my girlfriend ended up pregnant. but I might as well tried praying to the sidewalk, the outcome was still the same. little by little, I'm winning a place in your heart. :)

I had to jump into this Polo conversation. I still LOVE the smell of the stuff because it can take me right back to high school.

I really kind of wish DH would wear it occassionally just here at home. ;) The problem is that he associates it with my high school crush so he won't. He doesn't know how 'lucky' he would get.... :teeth:

i have found some of these responses pretty interesting. as a teen id like to offer you some advice. the best thing you can do is make your kids feel comfortabl taking to you about stuff like that. dont make them feel like you will end their lives if they have sex. and id suggest talking about stuff like this in casual conversation not akward sit down discussions that come off as lectures. it is importantto have a relationship byond the parent child domain. people make mistakes in life and learn from them, that is how we grow. and if you have an attitude of "you better never walk in this house pregnant or ill kill you" you are going to put your child at jeopardy b/c they will not come to you, they will seek other ways of dealing with it. and honestly if you have an attitude liek that and they want to get an abortion you will most likely never know. and dont freak out and cry if it does happen, your daughter will be taking care of that, you need to be her rock and help her make the RIGHT decisions for HER and what SHE wants her life to be, not what you want it to be.
