I'm leaving in a couple hours to attend a business meeting tonight in O-Town and have a couple hours to kill when I get up there. I've been toying with the idea of making a comando style run at one of the parks.

Since I will not have DW and DS, MK is sitting low on the radar. I been thinking:

EPCOT - Maybe a ride or two max (TT, MS, Soarin) if the park is as empty as everyone is saying.

MGM - Same thought (RR, TOT)

AKL - EE

Because of DW and height restrictions for DS, most of these rides I don't get to enjoy when we go together. Soo, what are your thoughts? :yay:

I'd do Epcot. Definitely Soarin, head to Test Track, then do some shopping and snacks in World Showcase. Have fun!

If it were me and I was alone and only had a couple hours, I would simply walk around and enjoy World Showcase. There is so much to World Showcase that I haven't seen, and it seems like everytime I'm there with the family, we're there at night and it's crowded and we don't even put a dent in it.

So that's what I'd do. I would be afraid that if I chose to ride rides - that two hours would really fly by.

You do have an annual pass I presume?

Yes, forgot to mention that. That's a good thought tho, if there are lines for the rides and FP's are hours away, WS could kill time, but I'd be tempted to eat and this is a business dinner meeting. Bad problem to have? :confused3

If the lines at ToT and RnR are long waits that might be all you get to do since u have such little time...Id pick MK bc I think youd be able to do the most rides there...Ive never been there this time of year - How are the crowds compared to August? (Thats when I have been going the last couple of times)

Wow, I'm not sure I could go to any of the parks without my kids! It just wouldn't seem the same. I don't think I could watch other Dads enjoying WDW with their kids.

However, if I had to pick one thing to do by myself, it would probably be a really good meal at Epcot. I've never been to any of the really good restaraurants at Epcot (Canada, Italy, Norway, France), so that is probably what I would do. My kids (DD6 and DS12) are always "on the go" at WDW, so we never have sit-down meals.

I'd do Epcot - more to do if you find that the waits are too long for the rides. I don't think they will be that long though.

Many people have been saying the lines are INCREDIBLEY short this week so maybe Epcot would be the best option

I would go to Epcot. Both Test Trace and Mission Space have single rider lines. I was going to say AK for Everest, but they have an evening EMH there today.

Great!

I am leaving now and I think the winner is EPCOT. Thanks for your input!

:cool1:

While I love the rides, I would probably just walk around, shop and enjoy the atmosphere. Of course ... take pictures .... I have to scrapbook it all! :) I'd probably choose MGM or Epcot and perhaps take in Fantasmic or IllumiNations to end my evening. Oh .... and eat an elephant ear from Boulangerie Patisserie!

I agree. My DH did that 2 years ago while he was down in Dis for a business conference. That's how we found out about the food & wine festival.

My only well-intentioned caveat: rides do break down, with people on them. If your two-hour limit is absolute, just be careful of what you squeeze in last minute. Last December, on our last morning before flying home, we decided to hit MK to do SM one more time. We did, it went great, BUT we learned that shortly after we rode, it broke down and some riders were stuck for 45+ minutes. DH and I decided that we'd never risk a ride that could totally strand us when we were just doing a quick hop before going to the airport....

That said, have a blast!

Just got back. While driving through the clouds of love bugs I somehow decided to go to MGM as RR and ToT are the rides I get to ride the least. So I park in the Stage area by 3:45 and I am done with both RR, ToT, shop for a couple of pins for DW and DS, and eat some fries all within 1 hour and 20 minutes. BTW, Luma on Park in Winter Park is very nice. Today was all meetings, so no time to play and I wanted to get home. :p

I did overhear that RR was down a little bit earlier that afternoon.

I am dreaming of the day I can do this. I love my DH and DDs, but I would love to be able to just walk through at my own pace and enjoy all the little details of each country. Someday... :cloud9:

I hear ya'. I'm in the same boat. There's so much detail and so much to see in the World Showcase - and it's not exactly the most kid friendly area of Walt Disney World. We have enjoyed certain areas - like my daughters DD2 & DD5 love both the rides El Rio Del Tiempo and Maelstrom but they're too young to really enjoy anything else.
