What WOULD you be doing this Memorial weekend?

That you're not doing now because of Covid. :(

Every Memorial weekend Saturday since one of my son's got married we'd have a huge Barbecue where they live in (hotspot Oakland CO) . My other son, DIL and grands would join us along with Mikey's inlaws and several dogs. It was always a great time.

Memorial weekend Sunday, my sister and I would head to the casino.

And then on Monday a big cookout in our neighborhood with siblings and families.

Of course none of that is happening except for social distancing as we already do in our yards all weekend. And that's just with my siblings and parents as they live next to me. No sons or grandbabies.........hoping for the 4th!!!

Happy Memorial Weekend to everyone!

Going to the parade! Our town always does a great Memorial Day Parade on Sunday and we've taken our son since he was 9 months old. He might have even been in this year's parade, because our town's soccer association marches. But not only was soccer canceled, so was the parade... :sad1:

We usually just do BBQs. Different friends or family do them (along with our own) and we all hop around depending on who’s having what and when. But most people aren’t having one and if they do it’s very small so no big invites.

If it’s Really nice we sometimes head down the shore for one of the days and spend the day relaxing on the beach and Walking the boardwalk but it’s going to rain Saturday so that’s out. Monday we might head down to take a stroll and relax on the beach.

Our Governor just lifted the ban on some gatherings. We’re now allowed to have 25 people for outdoor and 10 for indoor gatherings. We will be having a small bbq with our friends at our place on Sunday with about 15 people.

Working in the office. We are open 365 days a year and only get holidays off if they fall on your regular days off. Since I work Monday, I end up working a lot of holidays. I will be working from home Monday as usual.

We are doing our usual family things on Sunday.....grilling, smoking ribs, pool time. Watching TV

Pretty much what I will be doing. Hanging out at home reading or watching TV. I tend to avoid outings on long weekends because of the crowds.

We'd be at the lake house, which we are and have been for over a month now. But more family would be here. We'd also possibly be out on the boat but this weekend is cold and rainy so we wouldnt be doing that even if we did have the boat in the water now. And DBF is 3 weeks out from a shoulder replacement so that alters our plans too.

We have friends up here this weekend too. I'm not sure if we are going to go see them or not. We might wait until later this summer. He is essential but she took a 3 month leave in March.

Packing for my trip to Italy.:confused3

We were supposed to be on a Med cruise in June. Was yours a cruise too or on your own or a tour?

We would have been at a Nats game on Sunday and out somewhere on Monday. Now I am just excited to be getting a haircut tomorrow. I really have not been out of the house since mid March.

Our city sets up 1000 flags at a local park. We usually go to that, but it's canceled this year. Otherwise it's usually just a relaxing weekend, so really about exactly what we're doing now. We don't usually travel Memorial Day weekend since the youngest always has one more week of school before summer. We just wait until summer for travel.

What WOULD you be doing this Memorial weekend?

The Sunday before, we'd have a cookout with DH's family - at our place if summer had gotten an early start and the pool was open, or at MIL&FIL's if we were still easing into nice weather.

Memorial Day itself, I'd probably to go the parade. (DS was in it a few times with kid activities when he was younger. I still like to go.)

The Sunday after, we'd pick up flags at the National Cemetery in Bourne:

That's what I'll miss the most. :(
