So, I am just going back and forth, back and forth, on when to go. I am thinking sept 19-24 or dec 13-17.

for sept I have found some deals, and can go with DD for about $1,200

For dec, I think it may be a little more $$ unless I can find a good flight (preferrably from eugene)
any booking tips are appreciated.

On to what I will miss/see...
If I go in dec.
-I know IASW will (hopefully) be open by then.
-it will be holiday DL (i've never been then)
-it will be colder so we wont be able to get wet

If i go in sept
-IASW wont be open,
-wont be holiday decor (will if be halloween decor then?)
-it may be warmer and can go on water rides

my questions?.......
Weather...what to wear?
Hours?
shows/parades?
benefits/disadvantages of each time?
crowds?

my DH says I change my mind as much I change my socks....sorry to drag you guys into my forever changing indecisive mind!!!!!!! :confused3 ;)

We like going during the holiday. I jut got off the phone with a CM and they are still shoing Nov 29th as the day for IASW to come up.As far as water rides, we still ride Grizzly River Rapids and Splash Mountain. We do wear our $1 store panchos when we ride the rapids But if youdo Splash during the day, it's not too cold.Just my opinion! have a great trip!!!

September, you probably will not have HM up yet, if there is a connection between when they open it and when Thanksgiving is (which has been theorized or stated as fact 'round here). Last year t'day was early, so HM was up on Fri the 21st. Also noticed around here that they open it on Fridays, so if it's a week later for HM opening, and if it's on Friday, you'll miss it with those dates.

Might not be a big deal to you (I don't like the overlay), might not!

I didn't notice a huge difference in weather. A bit more pleasant, IMO, in December. Both months I had to wear a sweatshirt once it got dark.

We went around that time in Sept last year. We went from the 5th through 9th in December of last year (much less busy than your intended dates in Dec). Pleasant. :)

I found Grizzly in December (at night, while it was raining) to be perfectly fine in my poncho. But I was one of a very very few that night. :goodvibes

I have trip reports in my sig from those months, if you care to peek.

SOo.....my dates for are during a busy time? :confused3
Im gonna go make some pop corn and read your reports!! popcorn::

Sept at that time isn't that busy.

But the December dates are busiER than they would be a week or two earlier, but are less busy than they will be after you leave. :)

Make lots of popcorn; I'm talkative.:rolleyes1

We have gone both in October and at New Year's and have never skipped the wet rides. :) Do them during the day, use a poncho, ride right before going back to the hotel... but skipping them isn't necessary.

We love our New Year's trips and are sad to be missing two years running right now. I say go for December and enjoy the special atmosphere.
