We are going on a cruise for Mother's Day. One of our stops is Port Canaveral so we chose the MK Excursion. We have around 7 hrs if all goes well. I'm not so concerned about rides but more shops and food. lol What would be your top pics to see in so little time? We are hoping to get the parade in so the kids can see all the characters that way. I need some type of plan.

Edited to add: Our kids are 9, 6, and 2:)

Not sure how old your kids are, but for us we have to do the 3 mountains every time we go to MK - Splash Mountain, Space Mountain and Big Thunder Mountain Railroad - multiple times if possible. After that, we like Peter Pan (the new queue is awesome!), Pirates, and Peoplemover (a tradition). If time allows...Winnie the Pooh, Little Mermaid, Barnstormer, Dumbo, Magic Carpets, Small World, Jungle Cruise.

Well, it kinda is about the rides. :) ;)

The best lunch quick service locations are Be Our Guest, and Columbia Harbour House in my opinion. You can check out their menus on Disney's site. Be Our Guest can be pre-booked.

We typically take the monorail to 'Ohana at the Polynesion for dinner, or else choose Crystal Palace. Be Our Guest is also popular for dinner, but you can get a lot of the same experience by doing lunch.

The new Festival of Fantasy parade is supposed to be great. (I think it's the 3:00 parade). Main street is basically one big store on both sides, (especially to your left as you enter the park). If you want shopping, that's where to hit. I would still prebook some Fast Passes for 3 rides so you don't have to wait in long lines.

Very interested in more opinions, and the OP's experience. We are doing the same, but on July 1. Any chance you are on the Carnival Pride too? We will be with our 3 year old, which is his first Disney experience. So excited to begin to share the magic with him! I am at WDW this week chaperoning a school choir trip and scouting our our plan.

Please post your experiences! Looking forward to hearing how it goes!

I would go to Columbia Harbour House for lunch to save time. As for rides, I would make sure to see the Haunted Mansion, Pirates and the rides in Fantasyland. You might want to check out the afternoon parade. It's a good one. You can do your shopping at the Emporium to get it all done in one place.

Do you know what hours you'll likely be there?

BOG lunch reservation, 3pm festival of fantasy parade, snacks like dole whip, a cupcake, maybe a Mickey bar or popcorn. Sometimes we get a snack like that and share it's use to have a taste and then have another whenever we find one we like. My kids are young too and they like.....jungle cruise, pirates, dumbo, small world, Peter Pan, monsters laugh floor, little mermaid, mickeys philharmonic....haunted mansion and pooh as well. Pretty much all the non thrill rides. It does take extra time but if characters are very important you might want to do a character meal like going to chef mickeys at the contemporary or CRT. The parade is a better use of time though.
We skip the stores on Main Street when we first get there, for us it wastes valuable ride time, but we do go back mid day or need of the day and check everything out. There are no shortage of other stores in the park too lol. I'd skip the treehouse, Tom Sawyer island, carousel. They are great but in a time constraint we wouldn't bother. As well as the Aladdin carpets, I think dumbo is more special and it's the same actual ride.

Enchanted tales with belle takes a long time but if you want to meet belle and the kids really like beauty and the beast it's a special experience.
