What would be the best thing you have experienced at WDW?

I always get emotional as we approach the Magic kingdom, Main St & the castle - now I'm planning a family reunion trip to celebrate my mom's ongoing recovery from cancer - I know I'm going to be a mess and I'm going to get abused by by brother, sister & DH!! There are just so many wonderful memories and now being able to make more with my favorite people - I get choked up about it just thinking about it!

The funny part - we went to Disney alot as kids - now my brother and sister HAVEN'T TAKEN THEIR OWN CHILDREN! And my BIL & SIL are excited about going with me because they know I'll plan it out and we'll have a great time - but my big 3 - husband, sis & brother think I'm a nut! I'll show them (a great time!!)

Sounds like you're the "youngest" one of the bunch. My whole family (including my 22 yr old DD and 18 yr old DS) are magically transformed into a bunch of kids when we walk into the park. (We are going for the 11th time in Now as a family and both of our kids say not to ever plan a trip without including them.) It's a feeling that I cherish and yes, it even makes me/us shed a tear sometimes. I'm saddened that you had 8 people laughing at you. Tell them to hold on to those smiles and then knock their socks off.

We don't think you're nuts!!!

Kinda corny...but it was September, 1996. My wife and I were both 37...both going to Disney for the very first time in our lives. Our son was 7...our daughter 3...and our third inside my wife's belly!
We were driving in our rented car from the airport following directions into Wilderness Lodge where we were staying. It seemed kind of out of the way and I said as we were pulling into the lot "This better be someplace special!" Well...the looks on all of our faces when we pulled up to that beautiful lodge....and then the feeling we all had when we walked into that stunning lobby....that had to be our most memorable moment.
We haven't stayed at WL again, but we make a point every trip to go there....stroll around...take pictures. As everyone says, there is just no place in the world like Disney.

Our all-time favorite experience is always how we end our trips. We eat dinner at Cinderella's castle on our final night at Disney. I use it to remind my wife that she will always be a princess to me and she just loves Cinderella.

During our trip in February, we ate dinner and watched Wishes from inside the castle. The waiter said that we would only see about 30% of the fireworks, but boy was he wrong. It is such an incredible show!!!

Here is mine. Its more of the neatest pixie dust I got when on a trip.

We were vacationing to the world at the end of Nov 2001. We were on a bus on the way back to Coronado and my son (10 months old at the time) was flirting with 2 ladies in the seat behind us.

Long story short. The ladies were on a trip paid for by their company TORO. And they were leaving the next day. Well they had the tickets that actually expire and had one day left on them and were not going to use them because they were leaving. They were very kind to give their tickets to us

It is something I just tell people all the time about the nicest thing that happened to me at WDW.

So if the two ladies who are from TX and work for TORO are reading this and were in the world at the end of Nov in 2001, THANK YOU You truely made that trip magical

The best thing? There are so many moments to choose from, but the absolute best would be from my first trip to WDW when I was 10. Seeing Cindy's castle for the first time was just amazing! I was like, "Oh my gosh! It's REAL! There it is in front of me!" It's just this totally magically moment.

And I remember practically crying watching this one parade in the MK. It was in 1995, so I don't remember what is was called.

And on the same trip, I was chosen to be in this "show" in American Adventure in Epcot (what is now The Spirit of America Fife and Drum Corps) where they had CMs dressed up to be early Americans and they marched playing the drums and the flute. I got to march with them carrying a basket of flowers and they made me a "Daughter of Liberty" and gave me a copy of the Declaration of Independence! I still have it!

So many wonderful experiences...........
The first time I walked under the train station & saw Cinderella's Castle wayyyyyyyyyy back in 1979.

Most recently, my first trip with my then BF now DH in Dec 2002. We had such a great time. MVMCP..how magical is that. Snow on mainstreet, the decorations, hot chocolate, the special Christmas shows & parades. I got misty so many times that trip I don't even want to begin counting it. 2 of my favorite memories though, walking up Main Street on our first day & watching Cinderella's Surprise Celebration & hearing the opening bars to "So this is love"--which we consider our song & which I then walked down the aisle to. Eating dinner at Cinderella's Royal Table & the lights being dimmed & there we were right by the window watching the fireworks. Ahhhhhhhhhhhhh.

47 days til some more Disney magic & more wonderful memories.

Just a little bump here!

We had a family party over the weekend and it was unbelievable to hear my 74 yr old dad describing Epcot to my Un Disney BIL. He sounded so excited - we have 5 months to go and then I plan to have lots to add to this thread!!

This thread is great! I've gotten teared up quite a few times reading it. I have lots of best moments, but I'll try to keep it short.

During spring break in 1990 with my mom, dad, brother, and 2 cousins (all of us kids between 10 & 13). We were in Epcot when it started pouring. We were trying to get from Communicore East to the Imagination Pavillion (quite a long haul). We started out running for our lives to stay as dry as possible, but what started with one person kicking a puddle at another turned into us splashing around in 6" puddles and getting absolutely soaked. It wasn't much fun once we got into air conditioning, but it was a blast doing it.

This past trip with my boyfriend, mom, stepdad, and sister-in-law (just a few weeks ago) we were leaving Epcot after Illuminations and stopped and played in the fountain thing in the walkway between World Showcase and Future World. Taking our shoes off and getting our feet wet felt great after a long day at the parks. We acted like a bunch of kids.

The best one - My boyfriend proposing to me at the flagpole in Magic Kingdom with Cinderella's Castle in the distance.

Well we had our honeymoon at WDW. I had not been to WDW since I was 12 so in 1999 we took our honeymoon to disney and then in 2002 we took our aniversary in WDW.

We got married Dec 10 and decided to DRIVE to WDW from Louisiana. Can we say hello 12 hour dr. So at 7pm on December 11 we pull up to the guard shack at WL and the CM says congrats on your marriage. We still couldnt see the resort but when we turned the corner...... I was speechless WOW the WL all lit up for christmas.

we were walking onto a ride and an older couple asked did we just get married and then offered us a coupon for 1/2 off our meal at any resturant. MMMMM artist point

Being the only couple celebrating anything at Hoop De Doo and being the only couple up dancing. I got BIG bonus points from the new DW for that.

DW gets misty-eyed the first time we walk into MK. 30+ trips over the last 25 years and it never fails. Reading a good book in the lobby at WL while it rains. Lots of wonderful CMs. Pushing DSs, now 21 and 19 through the parks in strollers.

Mine kind of ties in with the Disney purpose of walking down a street and seeing a towering structure in the distance like the castle, but mine would be turning right on Sunset Blvd and seeing the Tower of Terror, and catching the word "HOTEL" on the building and saying "Mom, can we stay there?" when I was younger.
