What would be a good 2nd choice to WL in Dec.???

The past 3 years, we've stayed at WL (woodsview) or rented points for a studio at VWL. I was hoping for a 1st week of Dec. trip, but found out that the only thing available is courtyard view WL at rack rate...can't do it.
Would you stay off-site (and where would you recommend?) or try for a moderate? I'm just worried that going from deluxe to moderate would seem like a letdown (i.e. "motel" style buildings, noise concerns, etc.)--even though pictures make CRB look great.

My wife and I really anjoyed the Coronado Springs resort. It's a moderate resort but was very nice.

The POR looks amazing. I would definatly stay there. Though the entrances to the rooms are on the outside of the buildings - to me it really doesn't seem like a motel. By staying offsite you might loose some of that magic that Disney gives you. ( IMHO, it would be more of a "letdown" to stay offsite)

And keep calling back - sometimes it all depends on the CM you speak to.
