Personally I'm upset with the S/D. For our last 2 trips (2003 and 2005) we stayed at the S/D. Really good rates and really nice rooms with CL.

First off they've taken away the CL which in MHO sucks. I just had a look at the discounted rates through allearsnet.com and dreamsunlimitedtravel.com and wow the rates have really risen. Really the prices now are comparable to the other Disney deluxe resorts. With the ease of the other resorts and the theming... I honestly will consider the other resorts first and trust me I'm a big S/D fan.

Just wondered of others opinions.

I just made a ressie last month for May 2007 and got a standard for $159 a night, which I was pretty happy with. It was a FL res rate.

I wish they still had CL, also...not that I can afford it, but I would like to fantasize that *maybe* I could get a complimentary upgrade on my upcoming trip!!!

BTW...I just want to add that we used to stay at the WL a few years ago w/a FL res rate of about $130 a night (this was a standard room, but we ALWAYS were given comp upgrades to courtyard.) The next year it was about $160. A few years later, it was $180. The last time we stayed there were no standards available w/the Fl res rate, so we paid for a CY...it was about $260 a night! We checked in and were supposed to stay 2 nights, but we left a day early, cuz it just was not "worth" that much money to us. We are not cheap on vacation, but just hate to spend that kind of $$ on a room.

Same w/AKL...we actually paid $109 a night to stay there a few years ago. For some reason, I have a hard time paying over $200 for a room. That is my absolute cut off point.

For out upcoming May trip, we considered the Poly (it *is* an anniversary, after all) but again, could not justify paying over $300 a night.

Well the govt. discount is not available at the Swan for when we are going April 2-9 but its still alot, alot cheaper than the Polynesian and the other deluxes which are at the peak season rates. I will stick with the swan and save money this trip.
