What will make the kids happy?

We aren't sure where to eat for our July trip.

The places on our list already are O'hana's, Crystal Palace (breakfast), Coral Reef and Liberty Tree.

We don't want to go to DTD or a Mod resort to eat, to 1900 Park Faire, Cape May Cafe, Mama Melrose, Hollywood and Vine or Akershus.

Any suggestions on other places that would make the kids happy with choices and good food for adults?

What about Teppan Edo (japanese) at Epcot?

I gotta recommend Boma for the adults (and the kids will enjoy the kiddie buffet if all else fails). Then walk around and look at the animals.

I think T-Rex would get high marks from the kids (haven't been but will go in April I think).

Hoop Dee Do looks like a ton of fun, and I hear the food is great! Along those lines, WCC meets your requirements of good food and fun.

We did Boma last time & really liked it! We were thinking or Boma, Tutto Italia, Le Cellier and Whispering Canyon.

We are trying to find a good balance of buffet/served places and enough variety so it doesn't all run together!

Kids are 11 (on adult plan, but would only eat kid options), and 8 (who would prefer to have adult choices).

Marakkesh is fun with the belly dancers. We like the Sci-Fi, too. I know people complain about the food there, but we have always been happy with it.

Another thumbs up for Sci - Fi. My kids beg to go back here every time. The food isn't spectacular - more lunch-type food - good burgers, shakes, salads, sandwiches, etc. It's the theming & atmosphere that we all love.

Whispering Canyon is great. Plus you can enjoy the WL for a bit before and after the meal. It really is a beautiful resort.

We are going to Tepan Edo on our trip in March, my kids loved the Benihana and Domo 77 experience, so I'm sure they'll love this.

We went to Biergarten in Germany 2 years ago, and my kids enjoyed the show. The beer and buffett were not bad as well.

Another not very well know place is The Plaza just off Main Street. It is an ice cream parlor with good sandwhiches, burgers and ice cream. It is not fancy but perfect if you want a sit down meal that is better than counter service but not as expensive as some of the other options in MK. Nice environment for the kids but no characters.

'Ohana's is our hands down favorite place to eat! It's the one we go to every trip!

Just about everything is good at Disney.

For fussier eaters you need to do buffets as everyone will get what they like.

Plaza not a good value on the basic dining plan for a TS meal as it is mostly $12 sandwiches.

SciFi food is pretty dreadful; I go there for lunch and don't stray from burgers. Good milkshakes though.

No bad choices at Disney and food is pretty consistent. You will need to view menus to ensure your group gets what they like at each restaurant location.

A couple of places my kids liked that are not on any of your lists are Tusker House (either Breakfast with Donald, Daisy, Mickey & Goofy or lunch/dinner which are non character.) The food is really good for all of these and there are tons of options. If you do an early breakfast here you will be in the park before it opens. The safari ride is only steps away from the restaurant. You could grab a FP for it and head to Exp. Everest for low wait times or hit the safari and then heat to EE.

Another place my kids loved was 50's Prime Time. They really enjoyed watching the adults get in trouble by the wait staff. They don't really pick on the kids, just mostly adults. My daughter loved watching her Daddy get scolded by the waitress. The fried chicken is awesome and comes with 4 large pieces.

Le Cellier is great. We absolutely loved the steak (probably the best we have ever had). The bread they bring out before is awesome (pretzel, multigrain & sourdough).

They liked Sci-fi for the movies, but we sat through them atleast twice.

Hope you have a great trip.

My boys are 8 and 10 and their favorite place last March was Tusker House for dinner. The buffet has a big variety. DS8 loved unlimited corn dog nuggets, and DS10 had about 5 brownies - but, they really love almost everything. :thumbsup2

Forgot to say....

Their "must do" list is:

Chef Mickey's Breakfast
Le Cellier (2 times per trip)
Tusker House
Teppan Edo
Sci-Fi Lunch

They have also really liked:

Whispering Canyon Cafe
Coral Reef
Crystal Palace

Liberty Tree Tavern used to be a must do until we had a couple of trips with not so great food and they took away the characters. :sad1:
