The EU has far stricter controls on privacy, and Amazon disclosed that the device active records only when it’s been triggered. If you have an Amazon account, you can view and listen to your recordings.
Amazon isn’t spending billions of dollars storing recordings of your conversations. It retains the recordings it does have on you to better the service - a very small fraction of a percent are listened to by humans to ensure the device provided the service you requested. Standard quality control.
There’s way too much hysteria, and less facts, about the device on this fourm. If you believe the Deep State is listening in on you… I can almost guarantee you they have far better methods than working with Amazon or hacking your device.
People tend to fear what they don’t understand. I was gifted an Echo Dot a decade ago and thought it was the most useless item ever - until I started using it.
It's not like you "understand" and don't "fear" because of some kind of superior knowledge. You just believe what they tell you and trust it.
I'm sure that never went sideways for anybody.
