This will be our first trip to WDW and are doing a Land/Sea package. We are traveling from the west coast (long day) and will be staying at MCO Hyatt the day we arrive. We have transfers booked (but will be ME from MCO to WDW) and was wondering if we tag some of our bags with ME tags the day we arrive will they get shipped to the hotel? We would love only having to deal with a couple of bags for that night and have the rest shipped to hotel. Would the bags be sent to the hotel or wind up in limbo at the airport? Just wondering. :confused3

From what I've read on the board, most likely limbo at the airport ... or at least at your airline's baggage claim office.

The way I understand it, DME won't transport your bags unless you check in to take DME to WDW. If you stay at the airport hotel that first night with plans to take DME to WDW the next morning, my guess is DME won't transport your bags to WDW that first night. You'll have to take your bags with you and then check them in when you board DME in the morning.

I don't know if DME will hold your bags overnight until you check in for DME the next morning and then transport the bags; that's a new one I haven't heard about on here. Maybe someone on here has an idea?

Unpredictable things may happen if you use the yellow tags but do not proceed to the resort at about the time the bags are unloaded from the plane or if you use the yellow tags and the baggage arrives not on your check in day. But you don't have to hustle (except after 11 PM); getting a snack at the airport first is OK.

If you are going to stay at an airport hotel due to a late arrival in Orlando, you need to not use the yellow tags and take your bags to the hotel room yourself.

To speed up the ME welcoming area check in line, it is suggested that when reserving ME you name a flight, any flight, any airline arriving at about the time in the morning you would be back from the airport hotel to proceed to Disney and check in.
