What were happen to cancelled pts

First of all I have a Sept UY. I currently have a reservation beginning of August at BCV from Sat - Fri for a total of 275 pts. I used 101 pts (06 UY), 154 (07 UY) and borrowed 20 (08 UY). Now we are checking airfare and my DH only wants to take 5 days off of work. To get the best airfare at this time we will have to leave on Thurs and return on Thurs. Now here's my question if I cancel my Thurs night reservation and check-out on Thurs instead of Fri what will happen to those 40pts. Will these cancelled 40pts go back into my 07 use year so I can still bank them or will they cancel the 20pts from 08 UY + 20pts from 07 UY, which means I will have to try to rent the 20pts from 08 since we won't be able to use them before the end of my 07 UY, or will they go into a holding acct. I'm so confused this is my first reservation on pts, so I'm still trying to figure everything out.

If anyone can help answer this question for me before I contact MS, I would appreciate it. Thanks in advance.

I'm not 100% positive, but I believe that you can specify that you want the points that you cancel to be the 07 points and then you can bank them...Don't forget about the new 4 month banking window! No holding account if you cancel 31 days or more...30 days or less they go into holding account. But then you cant bank if you cancel less than 4 months from the end of your UY. So if you were going to do it, I'd say do it now, before its too late to bank!

You have a Sept UY and your reservation is in August, well past your banking deadline, which is the end of April. So, make up your mind soon!

If you take care of it before your banking deadline, you can ask MS to put back the 40 points from your 2007 UY and then bank them right away.

We decided to go ahead and cancel the one night in order to get the better air fare. Are MS open today so I can get this night cancelled and banked?
