we are ''enjoying'' our road trip back to VA and I am adding up what we spent and doing some pre-planning since we booked thew bb fd for next year. this was our family's first trip and I am including in our budget all expenses for dh, myself and our 7 and 4 year old. this is what we spent:
1,666-package including 5 night stay at the all star sport (59 rate with pin code) / 5 day myw base tickets and dp for each
92- extra night we booked while onsite at the regular 82 rate. (we thought we could manage checking out and then going to EPCOT and then traveling to Tampa to stay with relatives at the end of our trip, all on the same day. once onsite we realized this would be too hectic for our family so we opted to add the night. this was a lesson learned for future trips
270- gas from VA to WDW, while in WDW we drove everywhere, then to Tampa and then back to VA
106- tips for the 5 TS meals (avg 11 to 13 per meal), mousekeeping and bellman (our luggage hd to be moved to a different room for that extra night)
150 - spent in extra water, snacks and cs meals. I could have spent less on some of these extra meals not incl in the ddp but I dont think I planned this aspect too well. this also includes a delicious snack at goofys candy place in dtd which I do not regret.
230- spent in souvies (mostly for the kids, but it does include the picture taken in splash mountain, adult souvies and some mementos for family back home.
total spent was 2,514 for our family of two adults and two kids between 3 and 10
this was a budget trip planned in less than 2 months and we had a blast. is there anything you think could have done better?
we are planning way far in advance for next year and the fd will allow us to stay more days. I am already planning/ budgeting for next year. in particular we would like to have more spending money for souvies and other incidentals. next year we also need to budget for parking and tickets to sea world, universal and busch gardens we are staying nine nights at asmu and than a couple of nights with relatives in Tampa.
