My least favorite subject in school was math hands down. Anything past basic, simple algebra is way over my head. I remember times when the teacher would be working on one problem and she would fill up the ENTIRE board to solve the problem and I remember thinking "When am I ever going to need to do this in life". I was always horrible at math but somehow managed to get decent grades in it (mostly c's or b's). Science was never a favorite either. I never understood neutrons, atoms, photosynthesis, cells, organisims and the like.

I was always good in English. I was always great at writing papers. I also enjoyed history and government/law type classes.
Ironically, my fiance was great in math/science and hated english/history. I guess our daughter will be well-rounded. :)

I always did really well in English and lit, cause I loved to write, but I didn't do well with the grammar aspect...I think I just found it boring.

Math, now, I had trouble with it early on...that is, it was my weak spot. My mother drilled it into me that I must have a 'block' in my brain when it came to math, and I guess I believed her. Thing is, when I put my mind to it, I did very well! I think this was a case of self fulfilling prophesy, had she not been so negative about me and math, maybe I would have applied myself more. I will never tell my kids something like that. But it all worked out, I wound up making it to Trig in high school...guess I didn't have a block against math after all! Moral is don't ever encourage your kids to think they can't do well at something.

Speaking of math, I will never forget my high school geometry teacher...one day, he was teaching us this new theorem, and I was not quite getting it. He put a problem on the board...to motivate us, he would give you a bonus point in the grade book if you got it right. Anyway, I wasn't even trying, cause I didn't understand the new theorem...the kids around me kept getting it wrong, so I started to look at it, then I saw a way to solve it without using the new theorem...apparently the math teacher had not realized you could do it that way. So after I solved it, I raised my hand, and I had the right answer! He had me explain how I did it, and I explained my way. He was so excited, he yells out "Five bonus points!!!" He was a very encouraging guy, I'll never forget him. I actually felt really smart at math that day.

Sorry long post!

Favorite: French

Least Favorite: anything Science, but especially Chemistry. I had a great teacher (how many teachers put on the Beatles during labs and let us watch Seinfeld when he didn't feel like teaching?), but I didn't have any aptitude for the class. Biology was pretty awful, too, but Physics was okay. I'll just stick with French. :thumbsup2

Math. I sucked at it. Funny thing is, I'm not too bad now when it comes to the basics. I loved language arts and music. :)

What a great math story!! :thumbsup2

My favorite subject hands down was MATH!! :cloud9: I also loved any social studies subject like History or Economics.

My least favorite was Science specifically Physics....not really sure why b/c I absolutely loved math. :confused3 :teeth:

My favorite was English. I love to read and write and discuss and analyze literature, so it was always enjoyable to me. I never loved nor hated Math, but it came easily to me so I really didn't think about it much.

I hate Science with a passion, Biology in particular. I just never understood ir grasped it and I hated disecting things and having to analyze their bodies. I could never find the stuff I was supposed to be looking for.

Favorite Subject in School was: LUNCH. HANDS DOWN. :)

Least Favorite Subject in School was: Science. Blahh!

I loved English and social studies, that's what I wound up choosing as my major and minor in college. my faovrite English class was film and filmmaking.

it's a common theme...my least favorite was math. I was in the honors math class, but I struggled with geometry and with precalculus.

Favorite was English and History. Least favorite was Math and Science. Guess what I do for a living?????? Math and science :rotfl2: Guess what I gave up??? A job in the English profession :confused3 Just goes to show, you never know :teeth:

Math here too. Yikes..least favorite thing of all time.

Kelly

I don't like Math, but I love English, Science, and History. Its not that I'm bad at Math, A's, but I just don't like it.

I always HATED P. E.! Bleech....:crazy2:
Never fond of English really.

I loved Science, still do. Biology, Botany, Chemistry, Entomology, Geology...:thumbsup2

In high school - faves were science and math, hated history and English

Now, though, for some reason I have an easier time with history and English. :confused3

Chemistry.....YUCK!

Least favorite: without a shadow of a doubt, Math in any form
Favorites: History/Social Studies and Spanish :thumbsup2

Amusingly,

Favorite: Science, especially Chemistry ... love Calculus ... love English ... immersed myself in Philosophy ... celebrated the analogies and metaphors that are possible with History ... so passionate about Economics and Physics ... love just about anything EXCEPT

Least Favorite: French. I have a mental tick where I can't seem to "think" in a foreign language. I never got over the hurdle of "hearing French, mentally translating to English, formulating reply in English, frantically translating to French." This was even true after I spent six weeks LIVING in Paris. I can write fluent French and Latin, but I can't speak much. I get tongue-tied.
