Corded rotary -- ugly green.

Oh dear god... YOU ARE KILLING ME HERE!!! Hahahaha...
Ok fine...

Record.- Shawn Cassidy The Doo Run Run (I can vividly remember dancing around the living room with my cousins)

As far as tapes, I think my first ones I made with my cool little tape deck and micro phone of my family doing nothing special - I was a spy even in the 70s ;)

Don't remember the first Beta tape we had, but I remember when we got it. We sat in awe as my Dad pulled all 50 lbs of it out of the box and cursed his way through setting it up. The TV and tape player took up a whole corner of the living room and must have weighed around 400 lbs. ;)

Dishwasher - yeah right!!! My Mom was one of those that thought there was no way a machine could get them clean enough. That's what she had kids for. My personal first one was a mini built in that was in my college apartment I shared with 4 other girls.

Telephone - We had a rotary with a party line. I use to listen in to the neighbors conversations.

First car ... haha haha a used 1971 Chevelle Super Sport - And I was damn proud of it!! The neighbors would joke about me washing the paint off it.

First Computer ... why an Apple of course. But it only had dos and took up the whole desk.

Now if you start calling me old lady you are really going to piss me off!!!!

Lana :)

Just remembered another... (it takes us oldies awhile. :oP)
We had an 8 track in my Mom's Pinto. We would play Crystal Gayle over and over. I was a little green eyed blonde singing "don't it make my brown eyes bluuuuuuue".

Lana :)

Record- I had a record player as a kid but I have NO idea what records we had. They were all my mom's for her class (She's a teacher).

8-track- Yeah no.

Cassette Tape- Paula Abdul or Bette Midler!!! True story.

CD- Oasis :)

Beta movie- When I was way little we had one but never used it.

VHS movie- Can't remember the first..we had lots of Disney's :)

Dishwasher: Built in...if we're counting my OWN it's still Built In...but I just bought a house two years ago so LOL

Telephone:
Was it corded and rotary? Push button and cordless? Only ever had a cell phone?

When I was a kid we had a corded AND a rotary. No cordless because one time my mom's friend had been using hers and somehow heard a neighbor's conversation from THEIR cordless. Freaked everyone out and no one had them for YEARS in our area ROFL

First car?! Ok well..this one won't really date me but it was a 1973 Ford Gran Torino (Police package babeh!) that my elderly neighbor couldn't drive anymore. How's that for being a cute 16 year old girl in a scary boat! The first car I bought myself was a couple years later..Dodge Neon.

First kind of computer? Uhhhhhh. My mom finally bought a real one when I was in Jr High?

My friend's mom had an 8 track of Crystal Gayle. We used to sing along with that song too. :rotfl:

Record- Disney stories of various types
8-track- Never! Not in our house!
Cassette Tape- Thriller, Hall and Oats
CD- For some reason, I can't remember. :confused3

Laser Disc- Yes, we had laser disc before we got a Betamax. Not a small disc like these days, but big ones larger than a record. I remember we had Grease.
Beta movie- Lots, Beta was the better quality choice, so of course that's what we had.
VHS movie- Little Mermaid after I was married.

Dishwasher: built in or rollaround- built in. Didn't know they had ones that rolled around. Never saw that.

Telephone:
Was it corded and rotary? Push button and cordless? Only ever had a cell phone? - the same standard green rotary that everyone got from the phone company. I always wanted a push button phone when I was little.

First car?- My husband's Mazda 626

First kind of computer? My dad was an electrical engineer so we had a computer back in the 70s before anyone else I knew did. No brand, he put it together himself. He would bring home text adventures for me to play which I loved and still do! Zork! Later we moved on to an Atari 800. My high school graduation present was an Atari ST computer.

Record: those read aloud story books that came with the record.

8Track: I didn't have any, but mom and dad had tons.

Cassette: again, those read aloud story books.

CD: Oh, I think it was a Def Leppard one..maybe Hysteria?

Laser Disk: didn't ever have one

Beta: didn't have one

VHS: Hmm, I think it was a Disney movie. Maybe Aladdin or Cinderella?

Dishwasher: always had one growing up, even if it's name was me! :rotfl2:

Telephone: the rotary, corded kind, black and heavy--you could knock someone out with one of those!

First car: Some POS 1980s, beige beast. My second car-- 89 Nissan Sentra--was much more memorable.

First computer: when DH and I started living together, he bought us one--maybe 96?

Record: Smokey and the Bandit Soundtrack
8-track: Grease Soundtrack
Reel to Reel: Grease Soundtrack (yeah, that's right)
Cassette: Men at Work Business as Usual
Compact Disc: Sting …Nothing Like the Sun

Beta: I do not remember, but half of my parent's movie collection was on Beta
VHS: The Land Before Time
Laser Disc: Logan's Run (technically my parent's)

Dishwasher: What are you talking about? I am the dishwasher.

Telephone: Corded push-button

First Car: 1977 Ford Granada
First Computer: Comadore 64 baby! I had a cassette disk for it. It took half an hour to load a program.

Every day I am amazed by some technology. I have an MP3 player that I could loose in my pocket. It has 4 GB of internal memory and can take a Micro SD Card for another 32 GB of memory. I can pack ¾ of my entire music library (which is no small collection) on it. I remember walking around with my Walkman and one cassette all the time. However did I listen to just one album all the time?!

My first computer was a Wang Word Processor. First internet computer was a Micron. I know, I know, you have never heard of them. :rotfl2:

Reading this made me think of a conversation we just had the other day -- my son was speeding up a song on his 3DS so it had "Chipmunk Voice" My DH says to me, "remember doing that when you were a kid with records?" The more things change, the more they stay the same!
