What was your first official transaction with MS after becoming a DVC member?

I am about to get our membership number anyday now from the BWV resale we purchased! Our first official transaction with MS will be banking the remainder of 2008's points (41 total) into 2009.

What was the first thing you did? Was it bank or borrow points, transfer, or anything like that? Or was it to book your first official DVC vacation? I will not be doing that until August 2009 when I book our trip for July 2010. We plan to rent the remaining 2008 points, but we must bank them by November 30th or lose them (April UY). I have been doing tons of research and reading on the rent/trade board here so that we know exactly how to go about it, so don't worry! With our 2010 vacation plans, we could rent all 41 2008 points, plus another 46 from 2009 but they of course will not be able to be used until after April 1, 2009. Then with banking the remaining 2009 points into 2010, and borrowing some from 2011, we will have enough points for the following:

-1-bedroom for DH, the boys and myself for 10 nights July 2010
-Studio for my sister and 2 nieces for 5 nights (Sun-Thu) July 2010
-Studio for my parents for 5 nights (Sun-Thu) July 2010

That way, my family can go with us and the boys can enjoy WDW for a few days of our trip with their cousins (they see each other so often they are like siblings to each other). So these are our initial plans. What did you do at first?

We bought in mid-June, 2006...first call to MS was to try to book our traditional T-giving trip...had to W/L the Wed-Thurs of that week...(it came thru)...I remember thinking that while the CM was nice, she was nowhere near as helpful as the CRO CMs had always been...since then, we've added on and gone a bunch of times and I've discovered some MS CMs are terrific and some are ok (so far, no one "bad")...took 2-3 trips (and discovering these boards!) to really learn the in's and out's of using our DVC m'ship...CMs could be much more helpful to newbies, based on our experience...our first 3 trips the CMs did what I asked them to do, but didn't help me figure out what I was doing wrong! I was on my own for that...

You know, I have no idea! We bought in December '97. I remember that at that time we were able to use our new points to cover our current resort stay (we were in a cabin at Fort Wilderness) so I know some of those '97 points went to that. I think that the first call to MS was to book at studio at OKW for Feb. '98. Gosh...it's been a long time!

Our first transaction was to book a trip. We bought in October, I forget when we closed, but a few weeks later and then I called and booked a trip for May.

I bought in September 1999, I banked points and made a May 2000 reservation for OKW in October (7 months). My first stay at my home was over a year later - early December 2000 at BWV. I stayed with the May OKW and December BWV pattern until 2005, when my mom passed away (we traveled together). Since then I've been taking trips at different times, different resorts (even DL!).

Bought in March or April 1997.....booked a December OKW stay, then before that trip called & bought 50 points at Vero.

We bought in November 2007 and had a December UY. Our guide had promised us that we would get all our 2006 points and that we would be able to bank them. So as soon as we signed the contract, he called MS and then handed me the phone so that I could bank our 2006 points. Three days later I called MS to book our September cruise on the Wonder and 8 nights at OKW.

We closed in September and immediately booked BWV for 11 nights in May. We also booked OKW in Dec. for the few nights we could get and are waitlisted for the rest.
I have been impressed with everyone I have spoken with at MS. I call about twice a week in hopes of getting a whole week mid-December.

My first transaction was to make a reservation so that my friend could take his new bride and stepson to WDW! We couldn't use our 2008 points (Feb UY) so we banked them into 2009. My friend is going from 3/1-3/6, 2009 and is staying at OKW. I got him a studio for the first night (their flight arrives at 6pm) and a 1BR for the other 4 nights. It was perfect...it used 99 out of 100 points. Now, 1 point will go to waste...unless someone wants 1 little point .

I am eagerly awaiting our next transaction....May 4, 2009 I will call and book our 2BR at Kidani for 2010 Spring Break!

We did it backwards....

We booked our Oct 2008 vacation staying at the Swan then we went out and bought a resale - when we closed our first call to MS was to see if we could change our Swan reservations and use our newly purchased carrryover 07 points and 08 points....after a few days of being on waitlist....ours came through.

In a little over a week - we will be making our first trip home to SSR!!!

Our first occurred last December, while in WDW. Every day we were there, we called MS and added on a day for our upcoming stay next month!

My Guide reserved our NYE stay with our developer points before we had even put down a deposit, so I suppose the first official transaction with me as the member would have been that call she made with me after all the paperwork was done & I had my member number to verify and officially book the dates

I still can't get over how easy she made it & we booked just in time as those dates were reported as filled here within a few days.

We purchased June 1993 at OKW (Then called Disney Vacation Club). Took the tour on site and signed the papers right there. There was room at the resort so we checked in that same day.

Not sure of the timeline, but something like this:

1:00 PM: arrive at Commodore House (where the models were). A guide came out, gave us the tour, and explained the whole program.

About 2:30: Had decided to purchase and signed the papers. Our guide made a reservtion for that same day.

About 4:30: Checked in to a 1-B/R villa. (After going back to our off-site hotel and getting our things)
