What was your first car?

I had a mini cooper, well cool :cool1: (that was the old version as in The Italian Job) it was called Mooch after the blues brothers song Minnie The Moocha

I have no idea what my dad's was as he was a car buff and had cars long before I was born.... it could have been a Styre Puch or an Austin 7..?

My first and only car is our current Citroen Xsara; it's my car but DH drives it as I haven't got a license :)

I have no idea what my Parents first car was but mine was a Red Ford Fiesta. Not long after I passed my test it was written off in an accident, a big car went into the side of me :sad2:

Nice to see my "Life on Mars" thread inspired another one ;)
The first car I can remember my Dad having was a Hillman Imp :cool1:

My first car (and still my favourite) was a Mk1 Escort. :thumbsup2 Unfortunately it had a coming together with a wooden telegraph post :guilty:, killed the car, but at least I snapped the post into 2 pieces:lmao:

Mine was a Mazda MX-5. Oh how I loved that car... :goodvibes In fact, I bought another one years later, but it was never the same as that first one. Ended up trading it in for my current car, an RX-8, which is by far the best car I have ever owned. I absolutely love it and the only thing I would trade it for would be another one!! :cloud9:

No idea about my parents, but my first car was a VW Golf (which I managed to crash within the first month!). Nowadays I like to be up high and have space for the children - I have had a new ML-series every year since 2001!

:wizard:

My parents first car was a little Mini Van, and when I was a baby they just put me in the back in my carry cot and I would slide up and down..... :scared1: mind you I don't think it ever went faster than 30mph

My first car was a Ford Escort 16v, and boy did I love it! We used to live in South London then and I spent hours driving round the South Circular in it :lovestruc

NFR353G was mine, a mk1 2 door Escort 1300GT, Black with red and yellow stripes over the bonnet and a number 7 on the doors.....

My DH has hust sold one of his cars that was a 2 door MK1 Escort, He still has another one he is doing up and prepareing for a few track days. He loves these cars :) He Also has a Ford Anglia 105e which i dont think he will ever get rid of. The first three numbers of the registration on the Anglia are POO which i always chuckle at :teeth:

My first car was a **cough** Metro **cough** :rotfl:

It was a gold Austin metro and I loved it. I bought it from a nun, (yes you read correctly..a bona fida nun) and it only had 10000 miles on the clock after 6 years. I eventually had to let it go 4 years later when it was literally rusting away.

Similar with my MG Metro, great little car but 87000 miles on I had to let him go I am afraid, like you rust being the problem. :sad2:

My father's was Commer Cob van, with windows cut in the back and a rear seat added so that it looked like a Hillman Husky.

Mine was an Austin Mini 875 - one of the very early ones with horizontal sliding windows, exposed door hinges, drop down boot lid and 'golf club' gearstick.

NFR353G was mine, a mk1 2 door Escort 1300GT, Black with red and yellow stripes over the bonnet and a number 7 on the doors..... As a very nieve 17 year old, I bought this car on a rainy Saturday night with no inspection whatsoever, all I cared about was it looked cool. The plan was to put it in my mums garden the next morning until I sorted things like Insurance, passing test etc etc. Couldnt put it straight in as I needed my mates to help me lift out concrete fence panels.
Next morning I went out to find a fixed penalty notice on it for 4 bald tires. Thinking back, I should have signed the ownership document for a day later, but being stupid, off I walked down to the police station to explain I had only had the car a matter of hours and hadnt even driven it.....I told them it was now off the road, and foolishly expected them to "understand" and it would be OK. Unfortunately the officer concerned was more interested in finding out that the car wasnt insured, and quickly added that to the court summons. I didnt even know you had to have insurance until you drove a car !
So, without even driving the car, I ended up with points on my licence for 4 bald tires and no insurance. This set me back some time for getting the test passed and properly on the road, but once I did, I then proceded to drive through some poor blokes front garden wall down Trunnah Gardens (Johhny will know that road and will be thinking how the hell did someone manage to crash down there!).
So my first car was not that great an experience for me.
and funnily enough I sold you that car..hey dave, how are you..long time mate
