What was your favourite film of 2005?

Johnny,

I lasted half an hour with it before i switched off.

I loved Nanny McPhee (I'm terrible with films - can't watch anything too sad, too scary or too violent - hence the love of Disney happy endings) - I think it's out on DVD in February.

Willy Wonka was just too dark and depressing for me.

Also loved Monster in Law for harmless fun, and also really enjoyed 50 First Dates when it came onto Sky Movies, although I think it was released before 2005?

I didnt see an awful lot that I thought was that good during 2005.....I quite enjoyed "the 40 year old virgin", but its not one i'd watch again. Again, StarWars Ep3 was ok-ish, but not one ive bought.
Worst film has got to be "sideways" which I watched last week....absolute tripe.
Ive got "goodnight and goodluck" scheduled to watch this week, which is supposed to be quite well reviewed.
Best DVD release of 2005 has to be the "dont call me shirley" edition of Airplane!..... I am a big fan of ZAZ movies, and to see new Airplane! deleted scenes after all this time was quite a buzz for me, and the interviews on the disk are superb (these are in addition to the directors commentery from the previous release)....Wonderful.

HP & Narnia are my runaway faves of 2006, In addition to loving the films I enjoy the anticipation of these films coming out :goodvibes

The best film....Charlie and the Chocolate Factory without a doubt! And I never go to see a film which I think I might hate!

i HATED Charlie and the Chocolate Factory (we also happened to see this one in the theatre)..
the rest of my family liked it, but i hated it.....really really really hated it...i would have gotten up and walked out if i'd been alone...

i thought Johnny Depp was AWFUL......the original version of the movie was far superior to this one....and Gene Wilder was much better than Depp....

These are the top 3 on my list :)

-Chronicles of Narnia The Lion The Witch and The Wardrobe
-Harry Potter And The Goblet of Fire
-King Kong

I loved Johnny Depp as Willy Wonka - far closer to the original story than the jollied up Gene Wilder character. The whole story was much more in line with the what Roald Dahl wrote, and pleasing to see.
