What was your favorite now closed disney resturant?

The Magnolia Room (Golf Resort)

The Catwalk Bar (DHS back when it was MGM). They had a great shrimp appetizer and a TV. A great escape from maddening crowds.

But I must say, most of the places I miss far more for the nostalgia than the food. For example, I much preferred the Crystal Palace when it was not a character restaurant all hours of the day. Not that the buffeteria lunch was any good, mind you. But there is a certain nostalgia about eating lunch there almost every single time we went in the 1970s, even if the Salisbury Steak, Spaghetti and Fried Chicken were god-awful.

Perhaps the thing I miss most is eating at Tomorrowland Terrace while catching a Michael Iceberg performance. Beats the heck out of that automatronic monster that they have there now.

Thanks for bringing back fond memories. They used to have a drink that was served in a plastic shaped orange and a little straw stuck in it. I think this would be mine as well.

We still have those oranges somewhere around here. I really hate that they closed it and that the Swiss Family Robinson attraction changed. But what are you going to do?

I really loved the old Crystal Palace for the nostalgia, even though the first time we ate there, back in the early 80s, we got divebombed by sparrows that had found their way inside.

I miss the Concourse Steakhouse as well. They had the best steaks that I've tried on property.

Haven't eaten at a ton of the sitdowns, I typically do Disney commando style, barely pausing for food, but I really miss Fireworks Factory. I know there are more restaurants in Downtown Disney now than back in the day, but everything there was just so tasty and the atmosphere was fun, but not too crazy.

I remember eating at the Brown Derby 18 years ago, and they had the best lobster newburg! We were so impressed then, and we were on the dining plan that included a appetizer, entree and desert. Even though the Brown Derby is still there, I miss the old menu.

Favorite restaurant that is now closed:

Probably Bonfamille's. Another candidate would be Chef Mickey's Village Restaurant. The mouse seems to have forgotten almost everything he knew about cooking when he moved to the Contemporary. Au Petit Cafe should have been it, but let's face it, sidewalk cafes and Florida summers do not mix!

Closed restaurant that I most regret never being able to try:

Ariel's. With Papeete Bay Verandah coming in second.

This is the restaurant that I miss the most, for their alfredo, of course! At least I can go to the one in NYC, but it is missing the young, attractive waiters that Epcot had!

I miss Spoodles, and I use to really like Tonys in the MK for Breakfast

I miss the Adventureland Veranda. The building is just SITTING there!!! What a waste.

It is the Concourse Steakhouse for us.....DH hasn't been to WDW for several years and this was the one place he wanted to go.....gonna try Yachtsman this time.

I do! I had a great sundae there once. Butter pecan ice cream, bananas and a caramel & pecan sauce ( that I believe had a hint of rum) Yummy!!!! can't remember what I ate for dinner but I remember the desert 12 years later.

Concourse Steakhouse is the one we miss. They had a red pepper flake vinegarette that was amazing. Funny before DDP you'd get a salad with your steak but after they created DDP you had to pay OOP for the salad but the dressing was worth it. DD loved her cookie dessert, it was a large sugar cookie with royal frosting and candies to decorate the cookie. Oh how I miss that place.

Breakfast at Town Square at MK.

I also really liked breakfast at the Stargate Restaurant in Epcot. It was a counter service restuarant where the Electric Umbrella is now. The characters would come around in their spacesuit outfits (yes, at a counter service! no, there was no extra charge! yes, you could get seats and it usually wasn't crowded!) After you were finished eating you could head around the corner to play video games . . . I mean . . . have an educational experience designed to teach familiarity with emerging technologies and make the average person feel more comfortable with computers.

Er . . . depends on the steakhouse. My last dinner at Ruth's Chris definitely didn't come with a free salad. I don't even think it came with a free water.
