Just setting this up so anyone who DIS's after tonights opening! :teeth:

Since I am trying not to read all the juicy details, I thought a simple poll might subside my urges...

Sooooooooo for those of you who have been to US/IOA's HHN 14........................... which house rocked?

Hey MODS!!! Can ya edit my poll to take out the option of seeing the results.. that way people who are going later in the month can vote for their fave houses too!

Thanks bunches!!!!

I went to HHN the night of the 9th and have been 3 other times. This year disappointed me very much!!! I couldn't honestly anwser the poll at which haunted house I liked best because from 6pm-2am we were only able to visit 4. In the past there were people in the streets trying to scare you but this year there was no one on the streets. The haunted houses were not even that scary because there was a constant steam of people (in the past they seperated you into groups) so you saw what was coming up next. Also you stood in line so long with everyone drinking, hot, and tired of waiting that on several occations a fight broke out in line. Words and fists were both thrown. I guess I have seen HHN's better day's. I still had a good time, I was just dissapointed!!

kadia19- Welcome to the Dis boards. Sorry you had a bad experience at HHN. I sensed that it would be crowded so we went ahead and slurged on the VIP Tour which got access to all houses, most twice, the best rides (Mummy, Hulk, Spiderman) and the best seats in the house for Bill and Ted. The bad news- $120/person. Did you Stay and Scream? Did you see B&T? Did you get any beads?
Or just- :crowded: :crowded: :crowded: :crowded:

VIP would have been the way to go!

I got lots of beads but unfortunatly didn't catch B&T. most of what i saw was the backs of heads in line!:)

I actually stayed at a friends house and only went to HHN. all in all the weekend was a lot of fun even though HHN wasn't as good as it was in the past.

Cant vote because the best part were the rides. I thought it was all pretty lame. I was very disappointed in all of the houses.

Lame? How were they lame? I get the feeling you don't enjoy any haunted houses in general. Some of this year's were very good.

They were all lame because the same things happened in all of them. It was so predictable. We always knew "ok here someone will jump out at us" or here "someone will have a chainsaw".

I am just thankful that we got the express passes because if that was all I got after waiting for over an hour to get it I would have wanted a refund for the whole thing. Luckily the longest we waited with express was about 15 minutes.

I was really looking forward to this because the hype was so huge. We have wanted to go for years but never have because our daughter is too young. We let her stay with friends this year just so we could go but we will not waste our money again. We just did not like it enough to pay that kind of extra money over our season passes again.

People jumping out at you is the entire idea. Every haunted house is like that. If you don't enjoy haunted houses, there's not much reason to go to HHN. And to say that they are all the same is far from the truth. Every house has a unique theme and features that you won't find in the others.

I know what the "idea" of haunted houses is. I love going to them but these just were not scary. Maybe if they had been able to only let a few people in at a time the effect would have been different. We were hearded in in one big long line that moved very quickly and we saw everything that was going to happen to us before we actually got to the area. We were basically walking by saying "Oh hello" to these people. There was no "element of surprise" to any of it.

I also know they all had "themes" but no matter what the theme there was always the same things in each no matter what the theme. My dh kept saying that we have "already done this one" even though we had not. Almost every one had at least one person with a chainsaw. Neither of us saw any difference in the various houses other than the name of them. I am not saying they were identical but they were all so similar it was really boring.

They can't pulse people through in groups because the crowds have become too large. They used to do it that way. Now the cattle chute is the only practical way of doing it.

There's 7 houses. Only 1 has chainsaws. So I'm thinking you DID go through the same one. If they all seemed the same to you, I don't know what to tell you. Personally, if I were blindfolded and guided into a house, then had the blindfold taken off, I would immediately be able to tell which house I'm in. And I've only gone through each one once so far.

The corn field had chainsaws. I know at least three others had chainsaws that night.

The cornfield is a scarezone, not a haunted house. None of the houses take place outside. Those are all scarezones. And actually, I happen to know for a fact where all the chainsaws are. They're in Horror Nights Nightmares, Field of Screams, and Fright Yard. Only 1 of those is a haunted house. You may have heard some other sound effect elsewhere, but it's not even possible that it was a chainsaw, unless a scareactor was playing around where they weren't supposed to. There's also no haunted house near Shrek. If you mean't the one in the NY area, where you can hear them from outside, that's Nightmares. The single house with chainsaws.

And Sunday is the night I went. I'm starting to wonder if we went to the same event.

Wow... I just wanted to know which House people liked the best......

Thanks for those of you who have voted. I will vote myself when I get back.

Sorry Laurabearz.......it just makes me really mad for someone to say I didnt see what I saw with my own eyes!!!
