What was the very 1st WDW owned resturant you ever had breakfast, lunch or dinner at?

Tangorra (? spelling) Terrace at the Poly. They had a wonderful breakfast buffet.

Ok I'm really going to age myself ;) , but here goes. My husband and I were first there in the early 70's with only the MK. We ate in Adventureland Veranda for lunch and Crystal Palace for dinner. CP was cafeteria syle back then, but we couldn't get over the place. I felt like a kid looking around and taking in all the atmosphere. Years later when we finally had our children (yes it was YEARS later!!) we always took them to the Crystal Palace. I remember the first time we took our daughter it was still cafeteria style, but very quickly it became a character place. I still get the same feeling when I see CP. Just awesome!!!

I don't know why I'd even remember this, but it was at what was then Tomorrowland Terrace in the MK, in 1971. There was only one size Coke available, and it was $0.30. I couldn't believe how expensive it was.

First TS was what was known as, simply, the Town Square Cafe.

And... our first meal as a married couple was at the Gulf Coast Room in the CR. In 1980. Gone, but not forgotten.

August 1992--Chef Mickey's when it used to be where Cap'n Jacks is now.

Liberty Tree tavern in November of 1980. :sunny: I think we had dinner but it was not a character meal and was a la carte back then for both meals.

I don't remember where we ate first on my trips as a child, but on our first vacation as a couple last November we ate at WCC for lunch right after we checked in!

I dont remember my *first* - I was there in 1976 - for their bi-centenial celebration!

BUT - I do remember the first one I actually remember - the first year EPCOT opened, at Rose & Crown. My mom got sick - was puking all night. She thought it could have been the 1000 island dressing. :confused3

I just remember being WIPED tired - and her making -those sounds- in the bathroom while I was trying to sleep. ;)

It was in 1992 at CRT. We stood in a long line that morning (was it Valentines day?) and got a reservation for the evening.

Breakfast at Boma ... yum, a perfect start to our first Disney vacation.

ETA: I visited as a child but have no idea where we ate.

August 2002 ,I believe it was Chef Mickeys for breakfast we(17 of us) got into orlando at 8 in the morning went to our DowtownDisney Hotel , caught a bus to TTC took the monorail to the Contemporary ( where we got stuck for 30 minutes ) and waited about 20 minutes for a wonderful meal and a great time . When we went back last summer we did Chef's for Dinner and it was just as nice.

my ex and I got married at wdw in 97, our first meal there was V&A and second was whispering canyon. from one extreme to the other!!

The first WDW restaurant I remember eating at was, what is now the Concourse Steakhouse. It was back in the late 70's, I was 7 or 8. I proably only remember it because of the monorail passing above.

Let's see, It was 1980, spring break, I was a soph in hs, I went with my uncle, aunt, grandma & 2 younger cousins & we had breakfast at the castle! It was the only sit down meal we had all week long. We had counter service or off-site every other time. I of course thought I was too "cool" for princess' at 14, what a dummy !!!!!!!!! We now try to have bfast there every time we go!

It was about 9 years ago and we had gone with friends who were DVC members for a long time. Anyway, their tradition is to go to Cap'n Jack's in Downtown Disney on the first night. I assume for nostalgic reasons. Every time we have gone with them since then they always request the same table.

As for my "meal"....well...I don't really remember, but it was probably just potato chips or some other snack food in a bag. At that time the menu was pretty much limited to peel-n-eat shrimp, crab legs, and clam chowder, and at the time I hated most seafood.

FYI - I know Cap'n Jack's gets some pretty bad reviews here on the DIS but of the dozen or so times we have eaten there we have always been impressed with the food and service. Thank goodness (for me) they expanded their menu over the years!

We first went in 1995. I honestly can't remember what my first one was. Maybe Liberty Tree Tavern for lunch. I do know that my favorite was Ohana's!

I do remember doing a Character dinner in 1994 at Goofy's Kitchen at Disneyland. My daughter was so freaked out by Rafiki!

I went way back in the 70's with my parents for our first vacation to Disney World, we stopped in at Tony's for breakfast. I remember it being one of the best breakfast places we had ever been too. We sat on the outside deck and watched the people go by. It was so exciting!! We also at at Empress Lilly's (I believe that was the name then).

1975 Honeymoon trip (yes, back when people said "you're going WHERE on your honeymoon?" we were the trend setters :)

Only Things at WDW were MK, River country and the campground, we had the Chip & Dale breakfast in what is now Hoop do Doo! SUPER breakfast, family style, HUGE chocolate chip muffins, eggs, bacon, fruit, etc... and we all got kazoos! My husband still misses this.

I THINK my first sit down meal in Disney was Mama Melrose's back in 1992 or 1993.

Don't know what my first cs would have been. We have been going since I was, little back in the late seventies - early eighties. We never got to do sit down meals.

If we're not counting CS, I think 50s PT was my first. It was with my family more than 15 years ago. That was the most memorable anyway. I also remember eating at Sci-Fi with my cheerleader friends in 1994 for lunch--that was fun!!
