I'm not married .. or engaged yet.. ( hmm.. remind me to talk to DBF about that one... ) but how about Josh Groban's You raise me up... I think I would use that at my wedding :thumbsup2

We are going to use Can You Feel the Love Tonight, for first dance and My Little Girl by Tim McGraw for the father/daughter dance

We danced to "I Don't Want to Miss a Thing" Aerosmith and then my dad and I danced to "The Dance" Garth Brooks (I put my parents through quite a bit in my younger years:scared: so I felt that this song was appropriate)

I just got married on 9/14 and our first song was Only Hope by Mandy Moore, with a minute of "Hey Mickey" in the middle of it. It was amazing! The Father/Daughter dance was In My Daughter's Eyes by Martina McBride, and the Mother/Son dance was God Only Knows by the Beach Boys.

We combined the mother/son father/daughter dances and used 'I Hope You Dance' by Leanne Womack.

I'm not engaged yet either, but I think "Can't Help Falling in Love" by Elvis is a good choice. It's not particularly long, and it's one of my faves. My cousin and her husband danced to "Because You Loved Me" by Celine Dion at their wedding. Another of my favorites is "Somewhere Out There" from the movie An American Tale... I think it's by James Ingram and I don't remember the female vocalist.

And for father/daughter it'll def. be "The Way You Look Tonight" by Tony Bennett. Another good one might be "You Are So Beautiful" by Joe Cocker. For mother/son, maybe "Unforgettable" by Nat King Cole? A song that probably could work for either one would be "Say Goodnight Not Goodbye" by Beth Nielsen Chapman, but that might be a bit too sad. It always makes me cry ;) .

That's all I can think of at the moment... Maybe more suggestions later. Good luck!

I believe for our first dance we are going to use You'll be in my heart - Phil Collins

and Father/daughter dance will be to the song Tammy by Debbie Reynolds. Since that's my name :rotfl:

Our first dance song is: Heaven (candlelit mix) Dj Sammy & Yanou
Daddy/Daughter: I loved Her first - Heartland
Mother/Son: I hope you dance - LeeAnn Womack

First dance is It's Your Love by Tim McGraw & Faith Hill
Bridal party dance is Can You Feel the Love Tonight by Elton John
Father/Daughter dance is Butterly Kisses
No Mother/Son dance - my DF's mother is in a wheelchair

I just got married this past Saturday and our first dance song was "At Last" by Etta James and the dance with my dad was "I Loved Her First" by Heartland. If you have yet to pick a song for you and your dad I would recommend that one. LOVE IT!

We're also on the hunt for dance songs. Here are our thoughts so far...

The first dance song is still up in the air. Here are some of our possibilities:
Better Together - Jack Johnson
Come What May - Nicole Kidman & Ewan McGregor (Moulin Rouge)
Everything - Michael Buble
Broken Road - Rascal Flatts
We'll probably end up using the Jack Johnson song. The lyrics are so perfect and it's kind of a light do-do-do song - my favorite. But we also have quite a connection with the Moulin Rouge song, I'm just not sure it's really dance-able. We'll see.

Father/Daughter: Somewhere Over The Rainbow / What A Wonderful World - Israel Kamakawiwo'ole (Meet Joe Black)
The father daughter song is super long, so I'm thinking of using the last two minutes for my brothers. Each one of them would step in and dance with me for one minute. This would still leave at least three minutes for my dad.

Mother/Son: Sunrise, Sunset - Original Cast (Fiddler on the Roof)
We are trying to figure out the Stepmom/Son song too. Maybe the stepmom will get the first part of the Mother/Son dance or maybe we will do a whole additional song.

I thought I would add a bit of silly fun to this tread. When I was looking into using Better Together by Jack Johnson as our first dance, I stumbled upon this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3nie9lKPifg . It's fantastic!

Hi everyone this is my 1st post. I'm getting married at the wedding pavilion on Dec. 30 with the reception at Atlantic Dance Hall.
We don't have a 1st dance song yet. I'm trying to come up with either an 80's New Wave or 90's alternative (that's our style) but all are either too fast or too depressing. Any suggestions?
My dad and I will be dancing to Isn't She Lovely By Stevie Wonder. That was an easy choice.
