So back in August 2009 my Mom and I went 2 Disney as a pre-senior year trip. On our last full day at Disney we went 2 go eat at the 1900's Park fare in the grand floridian resort. Every thing went very smoothly. We were seated promptly and had some time to go get food before the characters came (This meal consists of Mary Poppins, Pooh Bear, Tigger, the Mad Hatter (the star of this story), and either Piglet or Alice). The characters begin to come up and visit our table and are all very friendly. Soon after the first couple of characters come up then the mad hatter comes up. He was a very good mad hatter, he had all of the mannerisms down pat and was hillarious. We then get our picture taken with him and move on. after he leaves my mom and I begin to talk about the new alice and wonderland movie starring Johnny Depp as the mad hatter. I start of the conversation by saying in an average voice how my friend thinks that johnny depp looks freaky as the mad hatter. my mom then says "He DOES look freaky as the mad hatter" (also in a average speaking voice). Then the mad hatter (who is a few tables away from us at this point) says "WHAT WAS FREAKY!?!?!? MARRY POPPINS? YEAH I KNOOOOW!!!!" (in a very loud voice). We start laughing so hard we can barely speak. He was obivously eavesdropping on our conversation.It took us a few moments to catch our breaths. Also pooh bear, who was a few people away from the mad hatter, was giving him the crazy sign during a few of his antics with fellow guests which made us laugh harder. everyone around us was laughing too! The food here was delicious and elegant as always but the service this visit was what makes the place special. everytime I see anything about the new alice and wonderland movie i'll think of that meal.
