what unique and meaningful character interactions have you had at character dining?

looking for ideas beyond a photo and autograph. something neat to say or do with the characters, especially a fur character (thinking specifically of tigger) who cannot talk back. maybe some funny requests like someone told me that their dd asked eeyore to show her his muscles. or maybe a "taunt"--someone said that they told donald that mickey says donald's muscles aren't as big as mickey's. or maybe goofy photo ideas? thanks for any help!

My niece was three and completely head over heels in love with Ariel. We booked the Storybook breakfast and my niece wore every article of clothing with Ariel on it, shirt, shorts, socks, pins etc....and her underwear.

Ariel made a huge whoop de doo over this and my niece was in complete adoration shock! It was all we could do to pry her out of the hug LOL

Breakfast at 1900 Park Fare: DD5 was dressed up in her pirate gear having breakfast before her Pirate Adventure that left from the GF afterwards. Alice does a great pirate impression and also shared two pirate jokes with DD - it was awesome.

I know this is not the proper sub-set of the DIS Board or a proper answer to the question, but the interaction with characters on our cruise on the Magic last December was outstanding. At least 3 times DD6 encountered characters all alone: Snow White, Cinderella, and Chip & Dale The chance encounters were crazy-special. Not having to wait in line was nice these times too . Snow White and Cinderella were each just hanging out outside the elevators (different times) and Chip and Dale were walking on deck. Chip and Dale actually had a race with DD6 on deck.

When we have had on clothes of the particular characters or their movies we generally tend to get more of a reaction out of the character. My husband was wearing his landyard one day with his Aurora pin on it, during that time they had a villains meet and greet in Fantasyland.. My husband was getting everyone's autographs while I took the pictures. When we got up to Maleficent she took notice of his Aurora pin and glared at him.. In a loud voice she said, "Where's MY pin?!" My husband always the quick thinker said, "I just haven't found one yet that does you justice." She pointed to a pin kiosk and said, "Right there!"

Last year my son (then 14) was wearing a Grumpy sweatshirt when he met with Snow White. She said, "Why my goodness, you don't look grumpy at all!" It was really very cute.

My favorite experience though for meeting characters was during a meet and greet with Peter Pan, Capt. Hook and Smee. Peter told me that I couldn't be in the picture since it was an men's picture - just my husband, Capt. Hook, Smee and Peter. My husband then told Peter that he couldn't be in the picture either. It was seriously too funny.

We booked Chef Mickeys with a HUGE party one year (though only 2 children) and we had the last seating. All the characters came over to our table on their rounds, and it was really nice. But then I guess the characters were a little bored, and since we were one of the last tables still there, they kept coming over to us, one or two at a time, and played with the kids. They "kidnapped" one of them, and then took the other one dancing... It was a really great memory for all of us.

My late wife, Judy, had a real crush on Dale.

One morning we were having breakfast at the Cape May Cafe. We were in one of the semi-booths (bench seating on both sides with aisle access both ways). I mentioned to the character handler than Judy was madly in love with Dale.

All of a sudden all four characters came to our table. Dale got down on bended knee and took Judy's left hand. Chip, standing next to him, opened up a cloth napkin and inside were two white napkin rings, which were apparently Chipmunk Wedding Rings.

Goofy, writing notes a a sheet of paper conducted the marriage ceremony and Pluto was the witness. I was taking pictures like mad.

Goofy, in one of the notes, mentioned that people are allowed to have multiple marriages at WDW, one to each type of animal. And that we would have to make sure Dale knew when we were visiting in the future so he could be with her.

And the whole thing really fascinated all the nearby Guests.

IMHO... The best character dining interactions are at The Cape May Cafe for breakfast and 1900 Park Fare for dinner.

The characters will take a lot of time with you at the Cape May Cafe and may even sit with you at your meal. We've played tic tac toe with Donald Duck... and the list goes on and on...

At 1900 Park Fare, the Tremaines are a hoot and will play along with whatever...

Every character interaction that we don't have to stand in line for is magical

DS asks piglet if he wants some of his bacon or sausage.

Stitch threw packets of sugar at me. I told him I would keep my eye on him. Every time he passed our table he would just give me the eye. When Lilo came ove DD had to tell her how naughty Stitch was being and she scolded him.

Pluto and Eeyore always seem to take to DH.

As a PP mentioned, definitely try to get the last seating of the night if you can stay up that late. This past August we had the last available reservation at Chef Mickey's (I think it was 9:20pm?). At first the restaurant was fairly busy and we had normal one at a time interaction, but within a half hour we were the last ones there. I am a huge character fan and had a birthday button on, which probably helped, but a really great CM whose name escapes me had a great conversation with us, he went to the back, turned on the party music and Goofy and Mickey had a personal dance party with me. We have GREAT photos from that, it was so much fun. I was really starting to boogie down and Mickey actually bent over laughing because i probably looked like an idiot, but I didn't care!

Really, a lot of the times the characters will do the work for you if you express an interest. All you have to say is, "You're my favorite character" and most of the time they'll make a really big deal about it and some will get quite creative. Back in '07 we ate at Garden Grill and I told Pluto how much I adore him. He sat in the booth with me and gave me hugs and wrote love notes on the table to me and really spent time for a great photo op. And after he left, he walked by the table again and stole our salt and pepper shakers and made me chase after him.

My son had just turned a year old right before we went to Disney in 2009. We went to Crystal Palace for his birthday that year. I had been to the buffet to get him some food. He was munching on toast when Tigger came by. Tigger squatted down and began playing with him, touching noses with himand poshing for pictures. I was taking pictures like a mad woman. I was surprised that my son wasn't frightened by Tigger. Anyway, after a few minutes, I guess my son had had enough of Tigger interuppting his breakfast. My child gave Tigger this big heavy, 'Oooooooo', along with a deep, heavy frustrated sigh! Tigger got up, tucked his tail between his legs, and walked away! The next time he passed the table during the Pooh-rade, Tigger covered his eyes and continued his marching around the restaurant! My mom had been at the buffet so she didn't get to see what happened between my son and Tigger!

We've had the best experiences at Cape May Cafe too. When my son was 3 yrs old, Goofy saw that my son had a new ball. Goofy sat down on the floor and rolled & threw it back and forth to my son. I have pictures of my son with such a happy smile on his face.

In '09 when we went with my kids and the inlaws, I made canvas bags with a character drawn/painted on each one. MIL's bag had Pooh on it.

We went to CP and Pooh went nuts! He took MIL's bag and pretended not to give it back! LOL! He walked away with it for a good length of time and the CM had to pretend to make him give it back...and then he sulked. It was priceless.

With the same bag, Tigger had a temper tantrum. It was hilarious. He first refused to sign it and he stomped around and then he took it and tried to hide it. He was so funny! It was absolutely priceless.

Not at a character meal, but with the same bags, we had an awesome encounter with Tinkerbell. DD's bag had Tink on it and she was a riot! She commented that she thought she was much prettier than the image on the bag, and that the image on the bag made her look heftier than she was...she was so cute! And then the other fairies flocked around her to see it and it was just an overall wonderful experience!

When we go to Chef Mickey, my son always takes a Mickey or Donald stuffed animal. Donald came over, stole the stuffed animal off of our table and began to taunt Mickey with.... they were chasing each other around the restaurant. (this past time... he took Mickey.. Mickey kept shaking his hand and pointing to it... Minnie kissed the doll and my son...)

at 1900 Park Fare... dress up like one of the step sisters!! A little girl in there did , and Drusella screamed for a few minutes. ( literally).. Hey its me... did you see that...its me!!! it was very funny especially when mom put them in a time out ( Anastasia kissed my son. his facial experession was priceless, so all night he would find from her and she went under the table to find him!)

When DD was 2, we went to 1900 Park Faire for supper. She asked Drizella why she ripped Cinderella's dress. Drizella said that mice were bad sewere, and that she just touched it and it fell apart. DD fell madly in love with Drizella and had to be her for Halloween. Four years later, Drizella is still her favorite character and she dresses up as Drizella whenever we are in Magic Kingdom or 1900. Drizella always gives her lots of attention.

On the last trip, Captain Hook kept bowing to her and kissing her hand and Donald Duck was laughing and hugging her. At 1900 Park Faire she got to open the doors (a child with an early reservation gets chosen every day), and got to walk in and talk to Cinderella and Prince Charming together for a few minutes.

She also gets a lot of attention when she draws pictures for the characters.

On our trip a few week ago we had lunch at Akershus and DD was dressed in a WDW Ariel Costume and when Ariel came to our table she made a huge deal that they were dressed the same. Then when all the princesses did the stroll around the restuarant, Ariel came straight to our table to grab DD and held her hand the whole way.....one mom tried to get her little girl inbetween Ariel and my DD and Ariel wouldn't let her....I loved that
