What type of paint to use on a vinyl spare tire cover

Since Fort Wilderness no longer sells vinyl spare tire covers, I think I will try getting a plain white one and painting it myself. Any suggestions on the type of paint to use so it will stand up to the elements? Thanks!

So if no one has tried to design their own spare tire cover, has anyone tried to do any artwork on vinyl material similar to old fashioned "oil cloth"?
