Our DD is 18 months old, but we purchased back in '95 when it was just the 2 of us.

I didn't vote, I am a grandparent that wants to spent time at WDW with my grandchildren. I probably would not have bought if I didn't have them. Maybe you should add a grandparent pick on your poll.

We really don"t fit into a category either :( We have 2 DS: 9yo and 19yo.Also have lots of "extra" children when it comes to vacation time:crazy:
We bought in Aug. 2003 while down on vacation.Poor DH knew it was a done deal as soon as we took the tour. His only option was to keep our savings account from being drained by me:faint:
Luckily his accountants practical side took over and we came to agree upon a adequate amt of points(or so we thought)
Our first trip home is in August with both our DS-and probably 1 extra son!!

Can"t wait:Pinkbounc

We were married with no kids when we purchased, but now have a 2 yo DD and another on the way.

We knew we were getting ready to start a family when we purchased and wanted to buy while I was still working and we had extra disposable income. Having those vacations prepaid means that we still get to go to WDW even though I'm now a SAHM. We just felt it was a great investment in family time.

I am 48. DW is going to turn 44 on Thursday, tax day!

Kids are 13, 9 & 7. :earsboy:

Similar with us. We figured the best time was to buy while our kid is young because we are going to go alot. I am already a sahm but we had the extra money being we paid off our car loan two years ago. So we look at the vacation club as a car loan :) LOL

I voted couple with kids all out of the home, but one DS is in college. So, I guess ours should be "most kids out of the home, with 1 part timer who comes back when he is out of money and/or laundry".

...or whenever we go to WDW!

LOL! Even when they are in their upper 20's and 30's, they still like to go along!

I'm not sure I would have purchased DVC if we didn't have 5 kids and need a 2BR. We bought in because that's where we were staying and it's too expensive.

Without kids I think we would stay at GF or Poly, etc.

Married with no kids -- yet. We decided to make the investment now before we started getting wrapped up in other expenses related to raising kids and then later decided that we couldn't afford it. Yes, it is great to set aside money for school, etc. But, after we had done all of that, we decided that it was also important to invest in having some fun time together as a family. Very excited about our decision. My memories of family vacations were some of my happiest from childhood and I want the same for our future kids.

This is the same as my wife and I. One of the factors for us was the fact that we would have 40 years to be able to take our kids(none yet but one on the way) and hopefully grandkids to Disney and stay in a 1 or 2 br villa which in my opinion is better then a deluxe room. We couldnt afford to stay in a deluxe room now I would hate to have to pay for one in 20 years. My wife and I have great memories of Disney and I cant wait to start making some with our kids. On our last trip we were at SAB and I sat there watching a guy and his son play in the pool and they were both having a great time and the guy said how much fun he has with his son. I cant wait for that to be me and I would be lying if I said I dont sometimes tear up thinking about it. Buying into DVC was one of the best things we could have done for our us, and our future family.

Purchased before we got married in '97. Now married with DS 3 and newborn DS 9-days old!

Being a part of the DVC allows us to have vacations for many years to come.

I had to check off a couple of boxes.

When I purchased- just 2 yrs ago- I was single and since ONLY my name was on the contract and the payments came from me,(even though he fronted a small amount for the down payment) I checked off single.

Now we are newlyweds as of Jan.

And we are a couple with No children.

So I checked off all 3.

well my category wasn't here there.. couple with a teen and a preteen. ;) So I just choose couple with teens.
