Cash, Travelers checks, bank card (debit). We don't use credit cards, I have one that is for emergencys only soooooo. What form of currency would you probably use??

Usually cash & last trip we had over $200 on the Disney rewards card.

And then I just charge to the room/aka credit card for everything else.

Edited to add: you do need cash for some things so if you decide travelers checks or your debit card bring some cash too.

This past trip we used mostly the new Disney Gift Cards - we had purchased 2 and got a couple for birthdays. The kids usually have their own Disney Dollars that they've received or purchased with their allowance. For big purchases, like if we have to pay the balance of our resort or buy park tickets, I use the debit card.

Debit card and cash. You can leave a debit card on file with the resort(if it has a visa/mc logo on it). Then you can use your room key to charge back to the room.

Otherwise, you can do what I do when we stay at SoG. I carry my debit card and some cash. I rarely use the cash though. The debit card is just more convenient. Make sure you check your daily limit before you leave! And ask if your daily limit is in effect over weekends! My banks daily limit from Fri-Mon is the same as Mon-Tues. Most banks will raise your daily limt for a trip.

Thanks for the info. I didn't know that debit cards had a daily limit. Glad to find out before we got to WDW.

I always bring around $500 in cash. I take the CC that I put the room on and use that for room charges. I usually put most of the cash in the safe and take $50 a day to the parks. I use that money for stuff that don't use the room card. At the end of the trip I usually have most of that money leftover so DD and I go to DtD and blow it all on souveniers that we didn't get a chance to buy during the trip!

I'm actually planning on putting everything on the room card and then charging it to my Disney Visa - to earn $$ for the next trip! We'll also have a rewards card with about $400 on it. Then I'll just pay the Visa off when I get home.

on our trip we took cah and trav. cheks. and but a good amount on our room key. and carried some cash for places that didnt run the key cards. We dont use a cc but for emergencies only.

We only bring a small amount of cash for little things here and there and either use our bank card or charge it to the room!

Your welcome. I found out the hard way over a weekend while moving. Even worse, my DH debit card and mine were tied together with ONE limit for the "day" and it was a holiday Monday which extended the "day". I was furious! We have since fixed the problem with the cards being tied together but it really put a crimp in my plans!

To the OP- The other thing you can do is pay cash at the desk and they will give it to you as a credit line to charge back to your room so you don't have to carry cash. I think the also take trav. checks.(I never use them).

I linked my debit card to our room keys and used it for almost everything. I had some cash and Disney Dollars (maybe $200 total) for small purchases , which I mostly gave to DD for spending money.

I asked for a detailed print-out from the lobby conceirge after a couple of days, and then one or two more times after that to keep track of expenses.
