I am planning our first trip for next month. What type of bag do you carry in the parks? Each of the kids-9, 8 and 5 will have a backpack for their "stuff". Pictures or links would be great. Thanks!

Last time we went- I used a croc sling and it was really comfy. They have kids ones as well.

OK, because of what I read on these boards I bought an Overland Donner bag a couple of weeks ago and really like it. I've been carrying it around for "practice." It's not too big for everyday use, but I think it might be a bit bulky by the time I cram everything in it that I carry at Disney. So I bought a Baggalini messenger bag, again, based on the reviews on the Disboards. Love it! I just transferred all my things because we're heading to the World on Friday for a quick weekend trip. I've got tissues and chapstick in the outside pocket, 5 different color sharpies, tickets, tide pen, nail file, bandaids and packets of antibiotic wipes, packets of tea/lemonade, brush and compact in the next outer pocket (with all the little pockets inside), then I have DDs autograph book (homemade from the boards, about 1 1/2 inches thick!) and clipboard in the main area, and I can still fit a change of clothes in here for her. In the pocket on the other side, I have a garbage bag folded up, and our rain ponchos. And then there's a cell phone pocket on the outside, plus hidden money pouch on the strap. It's not overly bulky, even filled like it is now. I'm really excited to carry this bag!!!!

Last year I used the Bagallini messenger bag as mentioned above but this year I bought an Overland Donner to use on our trip.

I went to Target and bought one of the nylon "man purses" that they sell near the men's belts and underwear. They had one on clearance for 5.00. I've been using it as a purse...I think it will be perfect for Disney. (It would be too small if I had a baby, but perfect for what we need). We also have a stroller though.

I've used a backpack type purse for the past few years. (LeBag) It's roomy enoungh to fit 2 rolled up ponchos, wallet, camera, and sunglasses. When i don't have the ponchos I easily put a water bottle in there as well. It's small enough though that it still fits on rides with me and doesn't "look" like a backpack.

I carry a clutterbag. clutterbags.com I have a Lindi style, it has lots of pockets, easy to carry handles for carrying or for the stroller, lots of fun patterns (design your own), and lots of shapes, amount of pockets, etc....

I actually have two of them, but bring one as my "Disney bag".

The best part, when we get home..it goes right into the laundry for a nice clean up!

I really LOVE it! I plan on getting a larger one when I have another baby!

I bought an REI bag which is a one strapped backpack basically--very nice and practical.

I am a messenger bag kinda girl. Backpacks make me CRAZY...I feel to constricted! SO...On trips with just DH and me, I carry an Overland Donner Bag. I love it b/c it has TWO diet coke bottle holders on either side of it! (that's actually what the pockets are for...diet coke bottles...seriously...;) ). It's got plenty of room for anything you might need. I found it to be very functional and roomy without being bulky or too big.

On trips with two kiddos along as well, I use a Diaper Dude messenger bag! (these are diaper bags marketed for men!:lmao: ;) )It was such a blessing!! It has tons of pockets, both inside and out, a diet coke bottle holder, and a cell phone holder on the strap. I didn't find it TOO big...but it was plenty roomy and held four ponchos, hoodies for both kids, a first aid kit, snacks, my passporter, Pal Mickey fit nicely when we went on rides. It was a great bag. I don't do Disney without it!!!

Mostly I loved this bag b/c I could rummage through it without having to stop, unstrap it, and then reload. I could walk along and hand things to the kids if need be. It was very user friendly and it came in a really cool camo print that made ME very visible to the kids and my husband!!

Diaper Dudes come in TONS of colors. The best price on the web I've found is at travelingtikes.com. Free shipping too!!

good luck and have fun!!!

The lightest possible bag. I like the nylon drawstring backpacks, sometimes called "cinch packs". Each family member is responsible for their own bag (contents: poncho, sweatshirt, water bottle, snack). My own bag has the first aid stuff and money.

For our 2006 Magical Gathering reunion - I purchased/filled 18 cinch saks for all attendees. Everyone loved them and REALLY used them.

Great source for inexpensive, lightweight bags: http://www.outletshirts.com/port-company/bg85/p/705?cPath=23_63

I made identical bag tags for everyone, with our logo one one side and their name in Walt's handwriting on the other.

I have a "small" Travelon bag. I LOVE it! It is made to be worn over the shoulder and with my "ursula" like shape it works wonders. I think it is very similar to a bagallini(sp)? I am always amazed at how much stuff I can pack in such a small bag. The thing I like the most about it is that there is a flat zipper compartment that is flush against your side and it is the perfect size for quick access to my tickets or ADR info.

Prior to our Christmas trip, I have always used a backpack of one kind or another, usually an LL Bean one. However, I ended up carry one of my Vera Bradley purses on the first day of our December trip and was so very comfortable with this (something I would NEVER have anticipated!) that I ended up carrying VB bags EVERY day. Of course, I only carried my dslr (w/no extra lenses), my wallet, a phone, and very little else. It's so nice to not have to lug around diapers, extra clothing, bottles, food, etc. I don't know how we ever managed it all!

I love my Baggalini Messenger Bag! It's amazing how much I can fit in it and it is all organized so I can find everything right away. Everyone keeps talking about the Overland Donner bag, so hmmm......I might have to check it out for my next trip!

fanny packs for everyone...including my 6'5 27 year old lumberjack of a jsband. they were perfect for camera, cash, folded up ponchos, and they never got left behind on any ride.

I have a small Kipling bag that I LOVE! It looks really small but it carries a lot and I can wear it over my neck around the other shoulder to secure it.

I have both bags (I got the Overland Donner first) but my vote goes to the Baggalini for sure! :thumbsup2 The Overland Donner is not nearly as comfortable to carry, and the main compartment is much smaller than the Baggalini. Plus, when it is packed full, it is very bulky and awkward to carry, whereas the Baggalini seems to be made to pack full!
