What toys do your kids NEVER get sick of?

When my son was 2 we bought him the Fisher Price castle. He's now 10, and although he'd never admit it to his friends he still plays with it. That was the best $30 we ever spent.
My son who is almost 10 still plays with it as well. The western town was a big hit as well, although I got rid of the "weapons".

My son doens't really play with a lot, but he does read a lot. I think today he took out 10 books from the library, and he will read them all.

He will still play with legos and a marble maze set.

My daughter has books, and craft supplies. They both like that.

My son's rubbermaid container filled to the brim was certainly the most expensive "toy" he owned. But if I figured the cost per time he played with it, it was probably the least expensive. We started getting him Brio train items when he turned 1. He still played with it when he was 7 or 8. It's in our attic now, waiting for him to have children of his own.

Ours too. DS9 has a box stored away waiting for his children. DS4 doesn't even know it exists -- has never had any interest in it. I'm sure he would play with it if it was setup but not the same as our older son did.

DS9 also have a huge box of Rescue Heroes things. We've let DS4 play with them at times, but again, he doesn't have the same passion that DS9 did.

Dinosaurs are an all time favorite in our house. Also builders -- Lincoln Logs, Lego's, Bristle Blocks. And, the plastic army guys -- we have boxes of them. My boys love to set them up for hours at a time.

My daycare kids have decide the best thing to play with is always whatever someone else has ;) . Toys are rotated on a semi-regular basis so they are fresh time and time again. The two constants left out always are the match box cars and doctor kits. They get played with the most.

I'm thinking of doing a Barbie purge over the weekend...just how many naked dolls with bad hair does one family need?

Amen sister!

LOTS of art stuff... paint, glue, pipecleaners, paper, stickers, etc..

Playdough, Crayola Model Magic
Barbies and Polly Pockets
Beads

We were lucky because our oldest DD only asked for two things for her 7th birthday.... Marbles and a Gameboy! As for the yougest DD who's turning 5 soon, I haven't a clue as to what to get her! Ugh!

My DS 6 probably plays with his Legos the most. I tend to find them everywhere and I hate when I find them by stepping on them.

He has had a 4-wheeler since he was 4, he probably plays with that second most. Best money we really ever spent on him.:D

Don't have kids, but for me (at 22 y/o) it's all about LEGOS. Still love them and always will. I still get them out every once in a blue moon and build something cool.

these toys last forever
DS 10 loves the lego
Daycare kids love the trains
Both are from older DS who is now 25

My 4 year old DD got a Fisher Price tea set for her 2nd birthday..and almost 3 years later she still plays with it often.
That, her Loving Family Dollhouse, her Disney figures(she has about 8 sets and plays with them constantly!), her Barbies, her Polly Pockets and her baby dolls, as well as the arts/crafts stuff(Play Doh, water colors, coloring) are her main staples and she plays with most of those every day..
Oh she's also a Game Boy lover now.

My almost 3 year old son plays with his Hot Wheels every single day, all throughout the day. That and his bigger cars(Tonka firetrucks, tow truck etc) are his mainstays. He also likes his MegaBlocks. He too loves the arts/crafts stuff(btw we got them an easel last Christmas and it's used almost every day)..and they both love books-esp. the ones where you press the pics to make sounds.

My son will be 7 in September and he has always loved music. Videos with singing and dancing such as The Wiggles and VeggieTale sing-a-longs. We bought him some kid tapes and a fisher price tape player when he was little and he wore the thing out. He loves CDs and sings along real loud....he hasn't realized that even though he wears headphones and can't hear us we can still hear him. For his birthday this year we are going to get him a CD player/Radio (he loves Radio Disney) Boombox type something for his birthday. I also want to get him a Discman to take to Disney with us. He also likes to play with instruments. He bought himself a recorder from his music teacher last year. He likes the guitar and drums too.

Paints is another thing he likes. Puzzles and games like word searches and mazes, connect the dots, color by number type stuff. And action figures are always a big hit. He likes to play with them inthe bathtub. I can't even begin to count how many Spider-Mans he has.

And video games is his prized possession. He started working on the computer when he was 18 months.

But MUSIC...if it plays music or makes music then it's a hit. DD, 15 mos, is starting out the same way with her music. CMT is her favorite thing to watch.

My sons (when they were younger) never tired of their Matchbox cars and trucks.
