We plan to do Christmas 2008 at WDW, what would you suggest other than WDW for New Years eve/day??:surfweb: Univeral, is it really crowded? Sea World? We are open, my boys will be 13 and 10yrs. Thanks:surfweb:

Yes, it is wicked crowded on NYE, at any park you choose. Personally, we prefer EPCOT. Although very busy, it seems less so given the layout. However, be prepared to see a LOT of drinking.

MK doesn't have alcohol of course, so that particular issue isn't a factor. It too is wicked crowded and you'll want to be there early in the day to avoid it potentially closing due to high capacity.

We were there on NYE a few years ago at the Magic Kingdom. By 4ish, the racket was so awful that we couldn't stand it and left. When they handed out those blowers, everybody went nuts.

I don't know about Universal or Sea World, but if you don't want to venture away from Disney, we did Animal Kingdom on New Years Eve when we were there, and it wasn't crowded. We had a fantastic day, got the kids nice and tired, and then went back to our hotel, put the kids to bed, and DH and I had pizza and beer to ring in the new year. It was quiet, but nice. My mother and sister went to the hotel lounge and had few drinks there while my nephews played pool and then went in the swimming pool.

We spent New Year's Eve DAY last year at Universal. We went to the park early, and it wasn't bad at all. We were staying onsite, so we had express. We actually went back to our hotel in the evening to avoid the craziness of the crowds.

We spent New Year's DAY at MK and Epcot. It was great, crowdwise because most people were up late the night before! We got to MK at opening, and then hopped over to Epcot later.

Thanks for the tips, our plan would be to start at rope drop on NY eve at universal and NY day. We will be at WDW 12/22 until 12/26 or so.:surfweb: I will have a detailed touring plan (TGM) and be ready to deal with the crowds, rope drop of course we will be staying at the CR for that leg of the trip.:rolleyes1
