we'll be flying in from NE PA. that morn. arriving around noonish at the
Beach Club Villas. after checking -in we'd like to have a sit down Lunch
with some down time to recover from the flights before hitting the parks
it would mostly be young adults with no kids, what would be a nice lunch
place at the Swan/Dolphin. we have walked by; but, never went in and figure this would be a good chance to check it out. open to all types of food, but
not looking for a big meals as we'll be PARKING later.

what would you recomm. and can we charge to our room keys?
do they offer DVC discounts?
thanks

There are a couple of places for lunch at the Dolphin. The Fountain is sit down and has a nice variety of salads, sandwiches, burgers, wraps, ice-creams and desserts. It is a diner style restaurant and can be a bit loud but is seldom PACKED. For a group of young adults, If the weather is nice, go to the Cabana bar / restaurant by the main Pool. Very relaxing cool vibe. I believe the food is made at the Fountain. Once you check out the Cabana bar....you may be back that evening!

You can not charge to your room key unless you are staying at the swan/dolphin. I do not know about DVC discount but some of the swophin restaurants give a AAA discount.

Theresa covered the important parts, but yes, you can use your DVC membership card for a discount there.

I've only been to Fresh for breakfast and not lunch, so I can't give you any reviews on their lunch food. I do enjoy their breakfast.

Picabu, while it's not a sit-down place, is run like a cafeteria. I thought the chicken pot pie was very good, and they seemed to give a ton of food if you ordered a lunch plate.

I never miss an opportunity to highly recommend "The Fountain" in The Dolphin hotel !

The *best* burgers anywhere on the property. (Trust me, I've tried them all. :tilt: ) They also have a selection of "fladen" (flat bread) sandwiches, and the Cuban one is "to die for" - it's huge and reasonably priced.

Also, while chicken soup might not be the first thing on your mind, theirs is about twice as delicious as you might expect it to be. On our last day at the resort, we order a couple of quarts "to go" and take it in the car with us back to Sarasota. It's that good.

Combine all of this with friendly service and hand dipped ice cream and you've got a wonderful place for lunch or dinner.

And the Fountain has the best onion rings on property.

The Fountain! So good. The burgers are awesome, the fries are great, the ice cream is fabulous. As someone said, it can be a little loud, but we've never had a problem getting a table there and it's a fun atmosphere.

I meant to mention The Fountain. D'oh! I have been singing its praises lately on the Restaurants board, because I think it also has the best burgers on property. And it is a heckuva lot easier to get seated faster than Beaches and Cream.

I still like that No Way José sundae, but if I want burgers, I go to The Fountain. :thumbsup2

The cookies and brownies at the Fountain are fantastic!
The cookies are BIG, made on site, delicious and...get this...3 for $5.
Oh...and you can get them to go. Best cookie deal in WDW!

The fountain is nice. Burgers are fine, but nothing I'd rave about. I liked the tuna.

I usually go to Picabu (or however it is spelled), though. It isn't a sit down and get waited on place. It's a cafeteria type thing. Decent food, cheap (on a Disney scale) and funky.
